Where are used to have a power outage about six years ago when we had a snow storm? Our power was out for a couple hours so we had no TV no water and of course no lights. I know how it is when there’s a power outage often times you just have to wait for the power to come back on usually car outage. Is it a really rare but the most common reason for power allergies is gusty winds, and sometimes lightning storms

Have you tried a pool noodle to stop Simon falling out of bed? Stick one under the fitted sheet and it helps kids not fall out of bed without taking up a bunch or room or costing lots.

The bottled water in the gallon container is the same brand that I sometimes buy at Rite Aid. It would be easier to pour with handles on it but it technically works even without that.

The two power outages I remember the most are the one during Hurricane Gloria back in the 1980s and the one that affected most of the East Coast in 2003. Fortunately where I was at the time the power was out for maybe a minute or two. On the rest of the East Coast the power was out for anywhere from a few days to a week. The one during Hurricane Gloria might have lasted as long as two or three days, but I’m not sure exactly how long because the days sort of blended together back then. That was one of the longer ones that I remember. When the power goes out these days I miss Hot Water, TV, and the Internet the most.

I think the worst I've had was when, about 10 years ago, there was some type of hurricane or tornado and we lost electricity for 3 to 5 days( I forget exactly how long). It was long enough to no longer have any cool air inside so, we had to sleep in the basement since the rest of the house was way too hot (it was in the middle of summer I think). I don't remember much about it since I was 9 or 10 years old back then but, I remember that we had to sleep in the dark basement and I was afraid of the dark, it was really hard for me. Your jacket looks really warm, Adam. I might need to try to get one for this winter especially since I work outside in all types of conditions (a snowstorm won't stop us from working, some of my colleagues have worked in the middle of tornados, and I've just been lucky to have the biggest storms happen on my days off).

It’s good to see that Simon still knows “uh-oh” here. Sometimes kids on the spectrum will learn words for a while, forget them, and then need to relearn them. So glad to see Ezra's face looking so much better those sleeves are magical, will definitely be stealing your idea. Poor thing is still sick :( i hope he feels better soon feel like hes been ill for a long time 😢 glad to see his little smile though 😊.... Hope the power comes back soon and Simon isnt to scared of the dark. How did you guys know before hand that it would go out? Do you get power cut warnings across the country? 😅 We only know when everything goes off and nothing charges. Simons so adorable with the light and heat thing on your coat , what is the device does it make the coat warm!? If so i want one lol my main trigger for overload is clothing and heat and i hate how heavy warm clothes are if i can make a cool coat warm that would be amazing. Such a lovely family, watching you guys makes me so happy , i always catch myself stimming while watching 😅 Hahaha simon and ezra having so much fun making a mess with those cards 😂 i used to make lines of all my teddies everywhere all over the house and they would follow each other in a line first one moving first and it would be literally hundreds of snaking teddies over lights, up shelves and i would literally have meltdowns if anyone touched them so everyone just had to leave them , but there journey had days it normally took a week for them to get all the way round the house and back into the toy box 😅 only for me to do it all over again the next week , drove my mum bonkers for sure hahaha but i was never happier than when i was doing that, even now as an adult i line up everything , they dont have to follow each round the house anymore but it does make me feel uncomfortable if any are moved 😅 Hope everyone enjoys the lovely BBQ 😊 and that you all had a great time even without power 😊 looks like everyone loved the meat Woooo three cheers for the electric returning 😊 glad you guys made it to the end without anything to bad happening and that you are all safe. So happy to see ezra slowly recovering hopefully hes over the worst of it and recovers quickly. Sorry i definitely rambled again , just woke up and brain organisation takes a little bit 😅

My craziest power outage happened when I was 10. A severe ice storm hit my entire area causing branches to break power lines. No power & heat for 10 days, school was cancelled for a week, living off ham sandwiches, my only entertainment was my Gameboy Advance on AA batteries (needed daylight to see it) only playing a Mario game I got two weeks prior. Got a runny nose from the frigid temps & recovered once the heat was back on. Fast forward to June, had to make up that lost week of school, which was the first time I heard about make up days & found annoying.

i think the cause of that power outage may have caused by a vehicle accident which would involve a careless driver crashing into one of the power poles

That is a very specific guess. In this case, the electrical company simply told us that they were updating things and needed to turn it off for that long.

Do any kind of joint-stability / motor skills / hypermobility issues run in your family? Such things are often comorbid with autism, and Marie's pose at the table at the end is very familiar, it's the whole "if there's a nearby object, lean on it" thing that I've been doing for as long as I can remember, and in general the way she carries herself in a lot of your videos suggests that, like me, she tires easily when holding herself upright unsupported (joint stability or muscular weakness in the back?). You have a short about 5 videos back where Ezra is looking incredibly comfortable in the kind of contorted pose that I found comfortable before age and weight gain reduced my flexibility, and I've also seen Simon in poses that I often took up at his age (I think I recently commented on a video where her was lying on his side playing with a train). It's interesting what looking through old family photos and your educational documentation will do. A year ago I wouldn't have noticed all this, and wasn't yet really conscious of my own motor and postural habits. Now I see kids (and adults, but adults can be better at hiding it) acting in certain ways, and there's this sense of recognition that wasn't there before; "Hey, I do (or did) that!"

What help to get over being afraid of the dark?
@bunglejoy3645 Жыл бұрын
I used to be scared if dark right up to 2017, when I was in mental health unit 8 month I would have treasured dark room ,but you had to have a light outside your room basically do staff could check you were still alive and weren't trying to harm yourself. So when I moved to my sheltered housing where I live I treasure the dark and it has to be total dark not o nick of light I discovered with bpd and now with proble autism a dark room calms my meltdowns. any stimulation isn't good for me at these times, total darkness helps me to sleep my flat in complex is upstairs where as all my adult life I'd been in a bungalow and people can break in and it was terrifying ne once mum died, now being upstairs and a secure entrance system and fire doors etc, I feel safer and in hot weather and sometimes in winter I had window open all night, I'd definitely go frantic if we had no electricity and I couldn't go on my computer's outages here would be extremely unlikely as the complex has a back up generator.❤❤❤
