This comparison couldn't have been done better, nice work man! Photon's are great. Bag a Fission and Plasma. Cause I can only throw 400-425 (unlike noodle arm Ezra here haha) the Photon's understable brother, the Wave, is my max distance driver. The thing flips perfectly and glides for days! The new Fission ones are pretty special.

What plastic and weight do you prefer for max d?

@@briansanchez6065 I prefer the Fission plastic for the grip. 2 of mine are FR Fission and are lower weights. They have been in my bag for 4 years and are flippy with a little tail off at the very end now. A buddy of mine recently gave me a MVP Open stamped Fission at max weight and it is money!!

Fission is known as their light-weight plastic but there are actually plenty of max weight ones out there. Can't go wrong with them!

As others mentioned, that Zues is def an anomaly. I've got every one of these discs but the one from DD and the Zues flight is almost identical to a 400G D2 in my testing of over 100 udisc measured throws. So hard when everything is different disc to disc, my sockibot destroyer is the biggest meathook I've ever thrown outside of an Ape.

I think that Zeus that you were throwing is a bit of an outlier, any Zeus I’ve thrown seems much more stable than the one you were throwing. Nice video as always!

Octane is way more like the destroyer than the photon imo. Octane has the same rim size and its meant to be the professional distance driver for MVP. Photon is like a stable wraith if you go by speed and rum size. Octanes are just better destroyers, again, my opinion haha

I love these comparisons, but after seeing that Zeus turn like a Hades. I think doing videos comparing the same discs with different characteristics would be awesome. I think it would help highlight OTBs use of the dome and stiffness ratings. Really highlight why buying from OTB rather than other online suppliers is beneficial to the customer.

It's so fascinating to see. When Drew Gibson did this the destroyer he had was super flippy and the Zeus was the one that flew the furthest. In this video it's the opposite. It just goes to show that each disc can be a little different.

@@connorivy6974 Some Latitude players uses Havoc. Eagle uses PD2 and some others uses 12 speed discs as well. Fairways are often used when you need something that turns faster and not necessarily as max distance rollers on an open hole. The same as fairway drivers on tight holes, easier to control. For max distance rollers especially distance throwers seems to use a bit faster discs just like in air shots. I do know some pros who uses fairway drivers as long distance rollers as well. I am a crappy player and I never roll distance drivers. Couple of pros that I know personally have the same reason for it that I have. Easier to control the angles with fairway drivers and less grip issues. Hopefully Ezra answers as well. Just thought about writing what I have been told by some pros.

@@connorivy6974 I'm not ezra or a pro player by any means lol but seems like you can get a bit further than an air throw if your roller goes really well. Pros can make rollers go like 700+ (obviously not going to happen all the time, but the point is that the distance potential for a roller shot is higher). Also makes sense in some other scenarios such as a fairway having some tree branches hanging kinda low that might create a low ceiling, so your normal max distance air shot might be kinda hard or risky to throw

Definitely did not expect the Zeus to exit stage right like that! I thought Discraft was the most consistent? Only Innova had consistency issues? 😂. Those were some absolute crushes though! I haven’t thrown them all, but have found the Defender to be pretty comparable to most the Destroyers I’ve thrown.

That being said, I do have to say that the OTB has really dropped the ball on this one if they sent you a lighter Zeus. You should be comparing oranges to oranges and that one definitely was an apple.
