The guy with the blade slicing a tire was actually the most impressive thing so far. That knife if damn sharp as hell.

Yes, he was really well protected and safety minded.
@TalRohan4 ай бұрын
You can usually cut that part of any tyre very easily by hand, especially if you hold the blade at about 45 degrees, its the treads that hold all the wires and nasty bits that make it really strong...have to say thats still pretty impressive though, he is extremely well practiced at it

Tires don’t need to be “recycled”. They can be burned just like coal. In fact, they produce less emissions than coal. They’re a perfect fuel.
@kennethm.pricejr.892111 ай бұрын
I spent many hours at a tire-burning plant in Patterson, CA. It was unable to operate at a profit because of all the scrubbers and settling ponds that were required to make the exhaust somewhat breathable. It only had a 25 megawatt turbine and the plant was massive. It failed. Later the tire pit somehow caught fire. It burned for several years.
@bsod560810 ай бұрын
The metal in the tires can form giant "bird nests" in the boiler. We have coal boilers too, its easier to burn coal. From a chemical point of view its a fairly good fuel for larger boilers. In our country tires typically are used as material in some parts (soft floor in playgrounds) and the cement industri. Cement require fuel with a high energy value, its a suitable fuel for that process.

I'm glad you highlighted the proper and improper methods available for recycling. Technology and carbon fuel powered devices are what brought us to the brink of climate disaster. The only sustainable methods aren't more energy and materials intensive, but less. The man with the knife is not only energy neutral, but human labor dependant, which is exactly what is needed for a society that supports itself. Unfortunately, manufacturing and mineral extraction have moved far far beyond redemption as far as the environment goes. We are well past the tipping point. It only gets worse from here.

100%. There is no technology or process that can return us to pre-industrial conditions. Only ceasing our current paradigm and allowing nature to reset itself can get us to where we used to be. Unfortunately this cycle was upturned, and now we have no timeline to normality. Indeed, there can be no normality from here. Only constant adjustment and suffering.

It’s called evolution, when the time comes it comes , whilst silly old Britain is hell bent on going net zero , other country’s are prospering , although Britain now makes nothing it still has to rely on these countries we see has polluters for our merchandise to live in a so called net zero modern world . Net zero is nothing more than a cash cow everything on tv ads is now sold has environmentally friendly what a great way to put the prices up ( by the way probably made in India).
