Damn, i can't believe i asked Dragon Link few months or maybe few weeks ago for a Nano Receiver and they answered me that it's not really on the top list :'( And now i am seeing EZUHF releasing their own Nano RX! They read for sure my request to Dragon Link! They have some great spies over there, impressive lol Another beautiful review Dave! Always a lot of details :) Thanks for sharing and have a great week

Hi Cedric! When I was doing the setup I looked for videos on the subject but couldn't find any on YT so I decided to make one for my viewers or anyone stuck with task of conversion to 1.53 firmware for the Nano.There is a Dragon Link Micro UHF Receiver but it costs about $97 and is not quite as small as the EZUHF Nano that is about $39. Of course DL has always been pricey. It does have a full set of PWM pins unlike the Nano

***** Yes things aren't cheap with Dragon Link but at least options and quality are there! Hope they will release a Nano version in the future, i honestly link the link quality povided by UHF even i have to say FrSky is doing some good 2.4Ghz receivers too! Enjoy your week

Thanks for this excellent tutorial Dave!🍻 I just updated my JR module last night. Gonna bind it up with my nano rx soon 🙂. I want to put it on a sub 250g quad with matek a 1.3ghz video tx and a matek gps. Then I want to explore the mountains, forests and creeks here on the west coast of Canada 🇨🇦. I hope it works! 🤞🙂

Nice walk through, remember if you update the tx f/w all the rx's must be updated. Note your servo map for each rx, it will be lost during the update.

I think those are good points indeed. The only alternative is to have two Transmitters with different firmware. Dedicate one to the Nano 1.53 set and the other to 1.5 for example. Other than that you are looking a updating firmware on everything EZUHF in your fleet.

Hello Dave, I know its been awhile for this video. I have a question for you? What happened to Immersion EzUHF firmware? I was trying to download firmware. I cant find anything! Please help Paul

Try this which I found on FPVhub ImmersionRC Tools and EZUHF Firmware: www.immersionrc.com/?download=4902 www.immersionrc.com/?download=4894

WOW, I didn't even know there was a nano version :-)
@DaveMerc8 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's fairly new. The jury is still out on it. I will be doing some testing later and make a flight video. I am actually going to try and fly in 30°f with snow on the ground tomorrow. Low wind in the forecast.

I wish I could fly in 30f temperature Dave. Since my accident and the metal rods in my left thumb, I get pains if it's below 50f :-(

Oh...... good luck :-)

Sorry to hear that Tony. That would keep me in too. Also if I had to drive in the snow. Fortunately it will be on the golf course behind the house to I can duck back in and warm up. The snow is actually an advantage to keep the golfers off the course while I fly :-)

dmerc00 - do you know if youre using the race sbus firmware, does that mean you cannot use the same module for both sbus and regular ppm rx's without changing the firmware each time? I use the 4ch lite in planes but want to use the nano in a quad running off the same JR module
@DaveMerc8 жыл бұрын
I have not experimented with that. That is probably a question to ask on FPVLab forums. From what I can tell it looks like you have to choose otherwise why would they have two different versions of 1.53 firmware for the JR module.
@aw8one8 жыл бұрын
Very helpful video. I use original video from two years ago when ever i forget some of the steps. My question is if were wanting to use sbus do we just down load that specific firmware to the rx and tx? Wondered about any steps on the gui for that as well.
@DaveMerc8 жыл бұрын
I have not setup sbus yet but yes I think you just change the firmware and follow the instructions for setup. Should not be too hard.
@aw8one8 жыл бұрын
Thanks probably just going to leave it on ppm i cant get it to update. Got my TX to update. The rx when bind button is pushed and plugged in it just goes blank. Tried everything

Thanks for the great and easy video. EzUHF Nano Rx rocks compared to the TBS Crossfire - range sucks, esp. in noisy places (I have proof in videos). I still like DragonLink, but their receivers are too bulky for a quadcopter.

Very good, clear and detailed explanation... As usual! Thanks Dave. Do they have the 1.53 version for the regular receivers?
@DaveMerc8 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can upgrade your other receivers to 1.53 in fact it is a must for me because my 8ch and 4ch lite RX's won't bind to my JR module anymore until I upgrade them to 1.53. Why does ImmersionRC do things like they do? IDK
@EduardoFritisRealtor8 жыл бұрын
I tried and for some reason the 1.53 with the regular receivers didn't want to bind! I might just need to try again! Thanks Dave!
@DaveMerc8 жыл бұрын
Main tips for the regular receivers like the 8ch and 4ch lite are to use the tools for binding, hold the button in on the RX when plugging in the USB and get a fast flashing light. You may also need to manually install the Windows driver again for bind mode if you don't get the flashing light. Also the bind button in the tools while not become active if the driver is not installed. Guess that is all I can think of. I updated and bound 3 of my planes last night with success. Had to try different USB ports on one and that is another tip.

I tried and didn't work. I guess I will have to try again.

I've been told I can get 3 miles from my Frsky set up but that's 2.5 miles further than I've flown. Maybe when I retire and I get a dedicated long range FPV bird like Bonifide Pirate...

I have a SkyWalker and Twin Star for long range but I don't go too far, just down the river and back.

Great Video Tutorial again, so easy....The Nano is obviously aimed at the Multi Rotor market, but I like its small size. The only downside for me is that it has to be hooked to a FC in order to use it.....Its why I prefer the little 4 channel version, it has servo pinouts on it..Im assuming you now need the new Firmware version 1.53 on your older receivers as well now or they won't work with the TX Modules..?
@DaveMerc8 жыл бұрын
You are correct, I must now do an upgrade to 1.53 on my other 4 receivers just so I can use the Nano. Ouch! The mini-quad market as caused a flourish of new gadgets that are actually benefiting the small fixed wing pilots with lighter weight equipment and cheaper pricing. You got to love it. I see miniature 1.3ghz video tx's out now too. Of course this means a crowding on the 1.3 band.
@EnglishTurbines8 жыл бұрын
Lol....I thought so...Upgrade your TX Firmware....Be prepared to do ALL of your receivers too..I love my EZUHF radio actually, it's really rather sorted once you use Dipoles on your RXs...Im lucky here, the 1280mhz band is pretty clear, I just wish our weather was....:)

Nice Tutorial, very good job! Before i see this video i've upgraded the firmware of the ezuhf JR module with the usb like in your video, but without the antenna on module, in your opinion, i could have damaged it?
@DaveMerc7 жыл бұрын
Maybe but probably not if you were just upgrading firmware.
@SynergyMaxxx7 жыл бұрын
dmerc00 because don't work, i've installed race serial bus 1.53 version on module and on nano rx, bind it's ok but the channel on receiver menù of inav doesn't work (in serial bus). with normal firmware 1.53 in ppm work but lost signal after 30 meters. i upgraded the firmware without antenna beacause i've read this: www.google.it/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.immersionrc.com/downloads/ezuhf_firmware_and_driver_28_12_2011.pdf&ved=0ahUKEwi55rDJ8L3UAhXHdpoKHbMFBegQFggnMAE&usg=AFQjCNFwdcKz0KJq4-E4uz-R2QcHTLcDQg&sig2=APbG7066WVgTxyjlDdB30g

EZUHF is really "Off the chains!" or at least that is what Mel B says. It's great not to have to worry about flying out of RC range. Thinking about using it on my Tek Sumo wing now that the RX is smaller and much cheaper than the larger versions.
