My c3n has night vision without light, when I installed it the camera firmware was updated, I have it in the night color option, but the light is not on and it looks very good, very clear.

Thanks so much for the excellent comparison review here. I need a camera that records audio and video with motion detection and no bright beam lights that come on. Just night vision motion detection, that also works in daytime, but no lights coming on. Recording audio is essential. Which do you recommend? By your review C3X or C3N should do. What do you think would best for my purpose?

Hi, C3N do have white LED's but you can always turn them off and just use normal black and white night vision. C3X is full color at night without using white LED's. So whatever you prefer.

Great review! Do you know if the C3N works with google home? Such as playing the live stream on a chromcast / home hub or even automatically play it when motion is detected?

Good question. I would guess it does but I think you need to ask Ezviz about that, just to make sure. I haven't tried.

I have an Ezviz C1HC and I can see it on the Google Home Hub (you have to disable encryption on camera though for it to work). I haven't tried set it up to play automatically when motion is detected but as Ezviz has IFTTT integration, you can create an event and it should work.

Isn't there a little square you can click on to turn off live view?

securitybros The little square stops the live view but not the motion detection nor the recording. The app had a home mode and that only stops the notifications on your phone. So every time we walk in the garden, motion is detected and footage is recorded. Some (indoor) models from ezviz have a sleep mode (like mini). There the camera is not Active. Normally in the app it should be an eye icon (dashed) (do i explain it right?). I have read 1 review online where is said the C3N has sleep mode (but the review also says the C3N has 2 way audio, which is incorrect though). So I’m trying to know for sure there’s a sleep mode 😀. Can you still check? Thx

Yes you can click record in the app and the camera will record and save the recordings on your phone. Otherwise the cameras uses a built-in MicroSD card for storage. Yes these are WiFi cameras.

Yes they are WiFi cameras so you don't need a network cable (you can use a network cable if you don't want to use WiFi) from your router to the camera but they do need power.

I use C3N camera as part of a wired CCTV network. The camera captures sound but is not intelligible as such. The requirement of a separate 12v 1.5A DC supply makes it imperative that we use a 12v 2-4A PoE injector at the switch-end, or use a PoE+/PoE++ switch. Hikvision does not amplify his issue and sticks to advising using external power supply included with the packaging. The C3N camera needs the extra power (over and above conventional PoE) for powering WiFi and illumination functions. Standard PoE (IEEE 802.3af standard) allows a powered device like CCTV cameras to draw up to 12.95W utilizing two out of the available four twisted pairs in Cat 5 / Cat 6 cabling. PoE+ technology (IEEE 802.3at standard) supports higher power consumption where the PoE+ switch delivers power over two pairs up to 25.5W for a PD with a voltage range from 42.5V to 57V with max power of 30W delivered by each port in a range from 50V to 57V. PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt standard) can be classified as Type 3 and Type 4. Type 3 enables two or all four twisted pairs in a copper cable to deliver power up to 51W; Type 4 delivers up to 71W over four twisted pairs in an Ethernet cable. PoE++ switch can deliver up to 60W on each PoE port under the Type 3 and up to 100W under the Type 4, provided the Cat 6 cable (copper cores) can take the load without melting or burning out. Installers tend to use an external 12v SMPS at the switch-end and inject 12v DC by splicing the Cat5 / Cat 6 cabling downstream to the PoE switch. This is desi 'jugaad' and poor quality installation practice - though it saves money. I would recommend a PoE+ switch, copper Cat 6 cabling and the use of a 12v, 2A splitter at the camera-end to power the camera for wired/wireless function. Somebody please correct me if I have gone wrong somewhere.

I have a question: it is possible for the ezviz C3X to be instaled inside a house, looking through a window? I mean, the night color vision is able to "look" outside without any refection? I have tried to put a camera looking through a window but the night vision is always reflecting so is impossible to see anything but the night vision LEDs reflecting on the window's glass. I wonder if this camera is able to do it without any kind of reflection in the glass.

I have only tested to connect the C3X using ONVIF but it does not support it. So I would guess its the same with the C3N. RTSP was no problem.

Hi i have bought this camera c3n and set it up with my home wifi connection and the mobile app all was working well untill a few days ago. My mobile live feed stopped working when i tried to view my feed on my mobile it just started to proceed loading and when it got to 99 percent it failed with 260064 failed. It was working fine before dont know what has gone wrong i am able to view my mobile live feed when i am connected at home when connected to wifi but when i go out it does not work also i tried just my internet mobile data with my wifi switched of at home does not work either it only works with the wifi connected at home please help

Hi, I have seen many reviews of C3X and finally bought the camera about a month back, since then I am regretting my decision. The connectivity is major issue, camera is heating up and no one response from customer care. Now I almost invested $800 on these cameras so I have to find a solution, can you please support me to understand following If I give Ethernet connection to Camera will it solve the connectivity issue, I believe the answer is yes but then how I 1. Use the app and see the footage, operate other functions. Will the app still be useful? 2. I have NVR connected to router, so with LAN wire recording should be better and camera won't go offline again and again (mot of the cameras are going offline every 10/15 minutes, will this issue will be taken care with LAN connection) I have many many question, but if you can help me with above that would be really really helpful

I wouldn't worry about the cameras getting hot, that's normal with these cameras. About the connectivity problem it depends on what that the reason is. Can't you test with one camera wired and see if the problem goes away? You say most of the cameras, is it the cameras that are farthest away from your NVR that gets disconnected? Yes the app will still work.
