@@saharakhalif4341 Visa Application fee gives you an opportunity to present your case to consular that you indeed intend to travel to pursue your studies. You friend gave you his/her own experience at the embassy, many students get rejected and fair number get accepted. My advice is any interview requires proper preparation to familiarize with the FAQ and what content or answer the consular is looking for in each question. It pays good dividends to prepare early as the information sinks in well and you can present the information required in your own voice and in a manner that appears convincing.

Hi @@samanthaalexis4431, Visa officers are smart, they have about 2 minutes to conduct an efficient interview (visa adjudication). They judge you based on few sets of questions. Remember they assume by law that you want to immigrate and therefore the burden of proof is on you! Section 214 B, basically means, 1. You are not able to demonstrate the intention of your visit (purpose should be clear). If school be certain of the school, location and why you applied to that school, etc 2. You are not able to demonstrate strong ties to your home country (they want strong ties which will force you to come back after the visit/education period). 3. Your financials or the financial position of your sponsor should be good enough. Bonus tip: But do not get depressed, 214 B denial is not permanent, apply again when your situation improves. Disclaimer: I do not work with the consulate or the USA government. I am not an attorney. Use this information at your own risk
