I have the CGI reference number for my MRV payment that was assigned to me when they accepted the payment but I don't have the physical copy of the receipt from the bank where I paid. However at the end of the interview I was told everything looks good, then handed a questionnaire about travel, work, living history and told to submit answers via email. I've been tuck in administrative processing since (almost 4 months now)

In some countries like India, yes. In other countries, they still require you to carry a passport photo with a white background. This happens in Nepal and probably other countries that even I am unaware of.

You can, but only to Pathway programs. I don't recommend them if you have a decent level of English. You should go for the test instead in that case.
