I wish that they would leave the missile be. There is a weird obsession from HB and ED with nerfing the Tomcat and phoenix.

I'm fine with a reduction in performance as long as that is what is needed to make it closer to the real missile. However, they can't go from "awesome -> shitty -> good -> terrible -> really good -> not great" and say they're making it more accurate. The performance swings are too wide for them to be making it more accurate. The tuning by this stage of development should be almost negligible.

@@Checklist_STT Agree. Unfortunately, I think most of the performance adjustments made in the name of “realism” are actually just to provide balance.

They don't like anything that puts their flagship modules (16/18) to shame. Plus, they've openly admitted that they will forgo realism to get people to the merge faster. Makes ne wonder if the Phoenix is going the way of "it makes you feel like youre in danger, but you really aren't" territory for the sake of their flagship (18/16) module consumers.

@@Checklist_STT Yep. There is also a cottage industry of "dogfight" youtubers, who I will not name here, that are more than willing to diminish the Tomcat's abilities in both WVR and BVR, to bolster other, newer modules.

they need to stop fckn about with it, as a 14 pilot since release I can't remember the Phoenix ever working as it should and every time they 'update' the code it gets worse :(

Yea it's pretty much bang on now appart from the guidance bugs which ED will hopefully fix.

I gave up on the aim54. I only take 2 to fire long range just to get closer to use my aim7

Your pilots should not be manually lofting the missile anymore. It actually hurts missile performance.

We haven't manually lofted on purpose in a long time. What I was describing was the target climbing and the launching F-14 remaining level.

@@Checklist_STT ok. I just misunderstood what you were saying. I've done about 75 test shots of the mk60 and mk47mod1 motors on the c. I can only get it to do mach 4.1 even at 45000 feet doing mach 1.5 at launch with no lofting profile. If it lofts it gets up to about 3.7.

As long as its realistic Im happy. Not to mention the missile was designed for bombers not fighters. But still not sure if it should perform like this

you should def check out the 10percenttrue podcast about the F14 Tomcat but also ED def should get its shit together especially considering all the money thats flowing into DCS right now.
