When I was there 2014, they had steps next to the cockpit so you could see inside.

I worked on these for Grumman at Point Mugu, Ca. in the 1970s. They came right from the factory for mods to the fuel tanks.

I was an AE in VF-111 Miramar. Westpac 81 USS Kitty Hawk CV-63. I have worked on this exact aircraft and it pleases the heck out of me to see it like this.

Great to see such pristine paint on this preserved Alpha model. Thx museum staff & volunteers. This Alpha/ Bravo & Delta Tomcat Maintainer retired Chief give big ThumbsUp to your prized last Supersonic Analog Navy Fighter.

I wanted to make the same comment. I just saw the one at Gillespie (the one used in the TGM movie) and it’s so worn out 😢

I moved that bird on USS Carl Vinson CVN-70 so many times... I miss it. I was an aircraft handler from 1988-1989, Air Dept, V-3 Div.

Bro it's so funny watching you do the same thing I did when I went to go see my first F14 in real life. I filmed it and had to film myself touching almost every part of the jet. Hahahaaaa.. I see I'm not the only one that thinks it makes the experience that much better and the video more fun to watch later on. Nice...

The "A" model was the weakest in the F14 lineup. The "D" model with the General Electric engines was more powerful.

I was with the Sundowners of VF-111 just prior to them transistioning from the F-4's to the Tomcats in the 70's. This was a great squadron and I hated to leave it especially since I would mis the change to the Tomcat, but shore duty was calling which made the wife happy.
