F-150 5.0 V8 Fuel Injector Replacement (P0300, P0303, P03016)

Same thing happening to my ‘18 5.0. Replaced the coil pack first, was good for a couple days, then hit again tonight. Ran to AutoZone got a new plug, took it out for a long test drive. Sounds good, runs a lot better, no rough ride, no hiccups. We’ll see what happens.

❤❤❤this is exactly what I was looking for!! Exact same thing happened to me!! I replaced all of the spark plugs and all 8 coils and still have the same misfire code. The truck also jerks a little when at idle. I was thinking it was a bad injector and this video helped me confirm that. I am going to replace it today!! I will get you the update!!

Dude you’re a lifesaver 🙌🏻. I had a cylinder 3 misfire weeks after purchasing my truck. The dealership “fixed” it in October but didn’t say what the problem was. The code came back recently so I replaced the injector and the code hasn’t shown back up. Much appreciated.

What a nice clean well filmed vid thank you. My 19 coyote is under warranty and has 3 bad injectors for some reason ford isn’t explaining. I had no check engine light but truck idles rough and rpm gauge jumps around 50-150. Thanks for showing how easy it is to do!

Thanks bro, I have been fighting the same thing for a little while changed everything just like you said except for the fuel injector. Headed to Napa right now to grab that and see if it does the trick. Same codes as you except mine was on cylinder eight.

Very helpful video. My 2011 F-150 has 218000 km (135,000 miles). Injectors are good. But when to replace? Mechanic says comes as a complete kit, rails and injectors included, not individuall injectors. Really expensive, like $1200 plus labor. But Amazon has set of 8 for about $100.

I have a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT......Do you necessarily have to have a check engine light when there is a bad injector? I have changed all my coil pack and sparkplugs but, I still feel a misfire at 40 mph and sometimes 60, unless I accelerate through. There is no check engine light on.

Not entirely sure, but that might actually be a transmission issue, specifically the torque converter. I only say that because you’re only experiencing those issues at specific speeds, and usually accelerating through it one of the few ways to have it not happen. Annnnnnd I had that issue on my 2017 with a 6R80 trans, so I know from experience 😅 The torque converter is known to go bad, especially in the 10R80s (late 2017s- current F-150s). It’s also an issue in the 6R80s (2005s(?) - early 2017s), but not as common. If you still are under warranty, it -will- should be taken care of. If not, you’re either gonna have to live with it, which it will worsen over time if neglected. Or you’re gonna have to shell out some greenbacks. You can also try Instant Shudder Fix, from Lubegard. I was going to go this route and bought it, but never got to use it. Figured, “why ‘fix’ it if I can get the whole damn thing replaced and practically have a brand new transmission.” Fortunately, I was still covered under warranty and I got a remanufactured (a.k.a reman/reman’d) 6R80. Bring it to a shop that charges very little, to check for you. I went to Aamco, very pleased with it and has been super smooth. I was just like you, not knowing what the issue was and no one online was talking about it or at least they weren’t explaining the symptoms of a failed torque converter. Found some Ford specific mechanic channels on YT and finally figured out the issue. Search “ford bad torque converter” and “ford bad torque converter symptoms”, so you see if what they’re saying are the symptoms you’re experiencing, just to be sure. They’ll explain it much better than I can.

Did you have the transmission rebuilt? I found the mechanic needs to do a Neutral Misfire Monitor when the transmission is replaced. I chased a misfire for months replacing parts and burned up the rebuilt transmission because the transmission shop failed to do the reset.

The code tells you. Since my code was a P0303 that means it was the 3rd cylinder. If it was a P0305 that would mean it’s the 5th cylinder.
