F-150 R 6x6 v 775hp F-150: DRAG RACE

Calling all our American fans - this one’s for you!
Mat’s got his hands on the all-new Hennessey Velociraptor R 6x6, and he’s going head-to-head against the Hennessey F-150 Venom 775!
So let’s see how these two all-American pick-ups compare. Starting with the Velociraptor, it’s based on the Ford F-150 Raptor R. This means it comes equipped with the same 5.2-litre supercharged V8 that can deliver 700hp and 870Nm of torque. This power is sent to all SIX wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
The Velociraptor looks absolutely wild, and of course, it’s had a whole load of work done to it to add the additional set of wheels, including extending the load bed, and the additional of an extra axel! As a result, this means it’s super heavy, weighing in at around 3,500kg!
Alongside it we have the Venom 775. This is also based on a Ford F-150, but under the bonnet, you’ll now find a 5-litre supercharged V8 that can put down 775hp and 929Nm! This power is sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed auto, and it tips the scales at 2,187kg.
So how will this one play out - will the 6 wheels of the Velociraptor propel it to victory? Or will the weight difference drag it down? There’s only one way to find out for sure - LET’S RACE!

Just a thought on your comment about the gear selector "buttons". They aren't for "SPORT" mode, they're for those of use that live in areas with bad weather that need to be able to manually downshift the truck for downhill driving on sketchy roads. It's a Ford F-150 truck at heart, not a Ferrari!

The Ford F-150 Platinum is 5000lbs stock. More with the supercharger, bigger wheels, lift kit, and beefy knobby tires that weighs like 70lbs each. To those outside of America, you probably don't realize how massive these trucks are in person if you're not used to seeing them, especially if they're lifted with bigger 35 inch tires or more. You would need to stand on a chair just to open the hood (bonnet) all the up. I don't think someone 5'5-5'6 or shorter shouldn't stand in front of a truck with just a level kit on, driver won't be able to see you. I'm in the New England, so trucks are difficult to drive on our smaller roads but there's plenty. Go a little west and US roads are long, wide, and straight. A lot more suitable for trucks, something Europe roads aren't designed for. Out in the big open empty roads like in Nebraska, Texas, Neveda, Montana, and all those big states, I would prefer driving a truck than a small car. Being in the smallest state that have small early developed roads, I prefer my little Mazda3 AWD hatchback. I drove full-size pickups plenty of time and it's a nightmare just to take a turn on local roads or park. Taking a right hand turn when a car is parked closed to the corner or driving in side streets with double parking sucks. It's too big.
