Incase ur curious, this happens weekly outside of elmendorf Alaska. Except our f22s instead come from underneath, to inspect their payload before confronting them. It happens so often the pilots recognize each other and laugh and wave at each other. I think if they ever actually had to fight each other at this point. Neither the russians nor americans would br happy to shoot each other down since they been flying together for years during routine intercepts.

Saw this in DCS, once the SU-33 realized he had a F22 on his six, he broke hard, fired every missile, dropped all bombs and and shot every round through his gun into the ocean, once all ordinance was empty, he lowered his landing gear and wagged his wings.. The F-22 is not easy or cheap to upgrade. You'd have to gut the whole internals and a new modern engine. The F-35 is more modular design and will have a longer service life because of it. There is a replacement to the F-22 currently in development and probably be ready in the 2030s.

I’m saying that because stealth aircraft have reduced IR and radar signatures, but yeah the only aircraft that can really look back are something like an F-35, but of course most other radar cannot look back as much as the F-35 radar can.
