It doesn't impress me. We have spent almost half a trillion dollars on a plane that has never shot down anything but a balloon. It will retire with a 1/0 combat record and that 1 was that Chinese weather balloon. It costs about $70,000 an hour to fly, and people compline about their tax bill, but about the only thing the Air Force does with it is train and show it in air shows. Oh, it is a pretty plane, and it is fast and stealthy and all of that, but if you don't use it, it is just a giant waste of taxpayer dollars. What I see when I see the F-22 is the taxpayers making the defense industry owners wealthy.

@@Jst4vdeos It didn't stop anything. ICBMs , SSBM, and NATO stop war between the super-powers, and in the overall scheme of things, 150 F-22s, half of which were broken most of the time, has never stopped anyone from doing anything they were inclined to do.IIt won't stop China if they decide to re-unify Taiwan. North Korea isn't afraid of the F-22. Neither is Iraq or Iran. They fight asymmetric wars and politics to keep the middle east a turmoil. The F-22 didn't help us in Afganistan, and it didn't do anything to stop Hamas from attacking Israel.

Whoever programmed the flight control system is a genius. The different control surfaces work together beautifully and most of the time their deflections are not extremely big. Everything looks perfectly smooth and highly efficient. The pilot has stick and rudder pedals, throttle, air brake and flap levers like on an average airplane. Anything else is automatically controlled to direct the airplane in the direction the pilot wants.

The controller’s worst nightmare, not being able to see the aircraft performing on radar
@Itsjustme-Justme
@Itsjustme-Justme Жыл бұрын
They use special reflectors that increase the radar cross section when flying in non hostile environment. Without these reflectors it must be even more crazy than just plain invisibility. The level of stealthiness depends on what the control surfaces are doing. Heavy manouvering with large deflections of all control surfaces can't be stealthy, it will alway create some angles that reflect radar back to the antenna. The airplane has the highest level of stealthiness when all control surfaces are neutral. Depending on the deflection of the control surfaces and depending on the perspective of the airplane to the radar antenna, the airplane has more or less radar cross section. It pops up and disappears on the radar screen in a seemingly random pattern and everytime it pops up, it's a different size, different speed and different direction. I can't blame radar operators who believe in UFOs after seeing something like that on their screen.
