American Airlines' first Lockheed L-188 Electra seen on the production line at 1:15 would become N6101A, "Flagship New York." It began AA's first Electra service on January 23, 1959. Sadly, it crashed only twelve days later on February 3. The Electra was operating as flight 320 from Chicago's Midway Airport to New York's LaGuardia Airport when while making a standard instrument approach for landing on runway 22 it flew into the East River about a mile to a mile and a half short of the airport. 65 passengers were killed and 8 survived the crash.

The sound is rather watery, but I'll most likely continue this newsreel.
