I worked on aero engines for Rolls-Royce for 32 years. Your explanation of bleed air is by far the best I have ever heard. I had to explain the operation it to a new unqualified engineer once. After an hour I still felt he did not appreciate all the nuances. Thank you!

Slight correction: The B model is the one without a tailhook. While the A has a tailhook its only for the emergency cables at all US fighter bases and some civilian ones. So while it can't land on a carrier it certainly can land without brakes.

Great video - I think you are wrong about the Airbus, whilst it may not buff out - a bit of duck tape and WD40 to clean the charing - good as new 😁 Seriously though, one of the best videos I have seen on air related incidents, no undue speculation or double speak. Hope the F-35 pilot recovers OK and is back flying soon. If I were the airforce - blame a bird strike - seems to be in vogue these days.

No mercy or time in fighters when things go wrong. Compressor stall or hydraulic failure in the landing phase and you have maybe 1 or 2 seconds to get out before it rolls over and dies.

There are also many incidents of crash from Japan and UK. The advance fly by wire system of F-35 is using sensitive sensors for input. Error input from bad weather or malfunction sensors can cause the plane to crash. The Korean Airline is lucky that the flight is delay. If the fire is detected when the plane is in the air, it will be another major disaster.

The extent of that damage is wild. I wouldn't expect the interior panels and insulation blankets to go up like that. How did the passenger get whatever was in that bag past security?
@gwiyomikim59888 күн бұрын
I suppose it could be a smartphone, tablet, or laptop with defective or improperly charged battery. Or a separate battery pack? VERY fortunate the fire didn’t start after takeoff. Results might have been disastrous.

Do military aircraft like the F35 have CVR’s and FDR’s to aid in accident investigations? (Maybe CVR’s on single pilot aircraft are irrelevant because radio communications with ground are usually recorded on that end anyway?)

30 out of 900 is a lot actually, and especially with that price tag. I'd like to see that manufacturing cost (complete components breakdown) justified on paper. It's not made of pure gold or even titanium. The military industrial complex always cashes in with no questions asked.

Oh~ don't worry. No one believe Muan airport disaster is Boeing's fault. Maybe Boeing has some dirt, but the main responsibility of mass casualty lies on the shoulder of Muan airport officials and bureaucrats who approved an airport in a bird habitat.

@peanutaxis7 күн бұрын
Yet more utter nonsense from this channel. Being heavier on landing does not put further stress on landing gear. It doesn't matter how heavy you are, your wings are taking the weight when landing. And if you are going to claim that once you are on the ground your gear has to take more weight - well the gear has to deal with even MORE weight when taking off! The extra weight will make your braking distances longer, but planes are designed to be able to perform an RTO much further down the runway again with MORE weight when taking off!
