The fact that Adam Air openly refused to pay for the salvage operation of their plane is nothing short of mindboggling. Poorly trained pilots. Not only did they ignore the autopilot disconnect warning, they allowed the plane to drift to the right, their late reaction was panicked and just made the situation worse. Roll wings level THEN gently pull the nose up. That is the correct method. Pulling on the nose first only tightened their spiral dive and made it non recoverable.

when the glass cockpit went down, they should have the analog backup artificial horizon. .its weird the pilot in control was more concern in finding where he is then actually fying the plane.
@MGower446515 сағат бұрын
Fairly sure they do. Never been in a 737 cockpit, but in the photos I've seen there are old style instruments in a stack in the middle, between the MFTs. One has the distinct look of an artificial horizon, the others are likely the rest of the Prime Four, airspeed, heading indicator, and altimeter. There is also probably a compass somewhere. The thing is, if there is a major problem the typical human will think everything is affected and attempt to fly seat of the pants, rarely a good idead in bad weather, studies show most everyone banks one way or the other, sometimes severely, without knowing it. And pilots for low-fare airlines might not get the degree of training necessary to overcome that impulse and trust the standby instruments despite what their own body is telling them.

@GODmasterHighIQ4 сағат бұрын
This is correct; I'm Pilot knew When the plane took off, terrible, soft weather in the cloud gave me a shake, so tough was the vibration. Sometimes planes always go to land or take off during a bit of weather. You don't hit them with a clod or bad weather. I remember the plane at 30k feet pulling left or right; I didn't want to go to the cloud bad weather zone. Might be a bad pilot and nav/autopilot issue; the pilot did not watch the weather radar and literally entered bad weather, making it easy for a plane disaster. First Pilot pull right, left, or back bad weather before fix Nav and autopilot or other, It is Blame Pilots Easy.
@phillee28144 сағат бұрын
It is very much possible, and all pilots are taught this before getting any ratings at all, very early in training. But in airline flying, not many flights would be completed if pilots were that restricted, and passengers pay to reach the destination they booked travel to, not a round trip to their departure airport without ever getting to the place they intended. Airliners can fly in adverse weather very well, even including thunderstorms that they generally avoid because they are just plain uncomfortable and unsettling for the passengers. This was primarily a navigation failure, which the crew became dangerously distracted by. The weather was just a sideshow.

This show isn't even accurate. The storm didn't make them crash, this was clear pilot error. The screens never shutoff they were busy fooling around with navigation while the plane was banking and they ignored the bank angle chime for minutes until the plane LITERALLY was almost completely nose down. The plane was losing 54,000 ft a minute until the hull broke apart due to the tremendous G-force and going almost the speed of sound in a nosedive . The pilots were screaming "alla ahakbar" the entire time without actually trying to correct the situation. They were completely incompetent

What the series presents about the moments before crash is actually mostly based on the final report from the NTSC, not from the spam emails containing that alleged fake voice recordings.

@@stefanosnikolaidis552This is why the investigation of an incident always includes both the manufacturer and an invitation to the air safety entity of the country the plane is built in to take part. France for an Airbus, the US for Boeing. *If* the cause is found to be a fault with the aircraft design, the manufacturer's liabilities go way, way beyond salvage costs. Everyone gets a bite. In the case of Boeing the NTSB publishes findings anybody can access and read, and the FAA often uses the NTSB recommendations to craft new rules. Boeing finds out the problem for free. Even in incidents in ither nations, the NTSB publishes the finding of the other nation's safety board, which may lead to more FAA rules. But if the maker *does* foot half, and its determined not to be a problem with the aircraft, the maker just spent a lot of money literally for nothing, with no way to ever recoup the loss. There is a zero gain situation for the manufacturer. The airline should be the eager ones - if they're confident the incident was the airplane's fault they will be free to get back every cent 10 times over in civil action. The only reason the air carrier would not shell out is if they knew they cut corners where they should not have.
