Whilst an impressive machine, is is the most expensive aircraft to maintain. It is not cost effective!

If your idea of cost-effectiveness is buying a jet that is less capable than your enemy's plane, then you'd be thinking like the Russians.

India still not having a 5th generation fighter in service while China have is a massive disadvantage for our air force. If China decided to attack India after Taiwan then air dominance play a crucial role determining who will win

So from being Russia dependent, we become US dependent? You see how the US is withholding permission for Ukraine to attack Russia with it's weapons? Do you want the same for us when Pakistan or China attacks?

It's not IAF doesn't want to buy.. It's America who isn't offering. Perhaps it's only for closest NATO countries and it's allies.

@@nishantshrivastava9674 Americans are offering the f-35 to IAF. They brought it to Aero India and even after that blinken or whoever said they don't have issues selling f-35 to India as long as its not deployed near S-400 sites.

Rarely publicly discussed, I've got a feeling that might be more of a future than Taiwan, India is in a rough neighborhood and wouldn't be able to cover that kinda of onslaught before it was to late...
