I just watched a Charlie Rose interview with Lee Kuan Yew, where he mentioned about the strength and solidarity of the Japanese people. In that he confirmed after his 40 years of political career that the Japanese, as a group are the toughest people in Asia. Compared to their neighbors, which are the Confucianists (Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese). I'm just wondering how so? What is in the fabric of their society that allows for that strength? They trusted the USA once and the USA stabbed them in the back with an oil embargo and other sanctions which crippled their empire. That lead to Japan attacking the Hawaii military base and then much later 2 cities of people being wiped out, as well as half of the people in Tokyo being murdered with fire bombs. So Japan doesn't trust the USA anymore, they know they are a fake ally. That if Japan is ever in a susceptible position that the US would stab them in the back again and mass nuke their cities and wipe out all of their citizens. This is why Japan refuses to help the US in wars, even though the US has asked for help with the UN claiming Japan has authorisation to join the war. Japan also invests a lot in China and China is now their biggest trading partner. Japan knows that while they and China have had some differences, that at least the Chinese have no desire to wipe them out (as the Chinese are racially like brothers a bit anyway). Yet Americans are mostly white nationalists and would wipe out a whole country off Asian people if they were allowed to.

This video is a great illustration as to why the F-35 is a great aircraft. It is fair to criticize the plane but the outright haters generally ignore the value of VTOL capability and what a great force multiplier it is. Its arguableThe U.S. created the F-35 to compliment our fleet of amphibious assault ships; which when combined with VTOL fixed wing fighters essentially turns them into escort carriers IE light aircraft carriers. This has arguably DOUBLED our active carrier fleet. Japan can do the same with your 2 Izumo class helicopter-destroyers and even the older Hyuga class aswell. Even smaller nations without aircraft carriers can benefit as VTOL aircraft don't necessarily require large airbases either; though quality is still necessary as VTOL maintenance is notoriously rigorous. Thank you Japan for investing in the F-35. Don't listen to the haters.

Apart from keeping their equipment in immaculate condition it looked like all their equipment are as much as it needs to be - no exaggeration just to the point. Love from India!
