F-35C Lightning II carrier variants, assigned to the Salty Dogs of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 23 and the Grim Reapers of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 101, the Navy's F-35C Fleet replacement squadron, conduct flight operations aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). VX-23 is conducting its third and final developmental test (DT-III) phase of the F-35C. VFA-101 is conducting its first carrier qualifications with the aircraft. never even noticed on other jets...but the pilot sure gets bounced when the cat shoots!

Maybe too little weight at the nose end ? Pilots will have to eat a few more burgers and chips .

770valiant . I couldn't help but notice how pilots get rocked pretty hard on cat launch. Like bobblehead on car dash, lol. I heard initially pilots complained of disorientation after cat launch. Don't see improvement compared to F/A 18 E/F

Only 1 thing i noticed . When the Aircraft is launched at 1.49 the Pilot was jerked about like a rag doll . Surely he / she needs to be in control . Maybe the nose wheel is to springy ?

It would have meant to much change to the ships . With Government cuts risks to high we are better off just getting what we can . Anyway the B version isn't bad or the USMC wouldn't have it . For us its more of a strike plane anyway . The Typhoon is our main Fighter , its a pity that couldn't be put on our Carriers too . That would up our game a bit.
