The USN is going for a high-low mix. High would be the 35 and low would be the F-18. F-18's will be around when you start flying. Good luck.

@@kickztailout3216 F-35s are actually excellent fighters, near every fighter we own had an accident rate much higher than that of fat amy. The only reason why people say it’s trash is because media want something to talk about that they “know” when in reality pilots love it and the enemy fear it.

Вопрос №2: вы его бедного что весь солидолом обмазали, что у вас центроплан гнить перестал, и начал, хоть на раз, перегрузку держать?

But..... Modern carriers typically have three or four arresting cables laid across the landing area. All U.S. carriers in the Nimitz-class, along withEnterprise, have four wires, with the exception of the USS Ronald Reagan and USS George H.W. Bush, which have only three. The Gerald R. Ford-class carriers will also have three.

Too big, too expensive. Replacing the A-10 with the 35 is nuts! The A-10 can be shot to pieces and STILL fly. Try that with one of these and see what happens! BIG mistake!
@1989theblacknight
@1989theblacknight 9 жыл бұрын
Yeah they'll bring the A-10 back. It was built for interdiction, whereas the F-35 is predominantly used for air-superiority. They actually did use an A-10 very recently for some ISIS business.
@JonHunter69

the A-10 is a ground attack aircraft with no air to air weopons. The F-35 is a fighter (air to air) different aircraft with different missions. one did not replace the other
@SufaViper1
@SufaViper1 9 жыл бұрын
Check your facts. Check out Feb. 15, 1991 and tell me again how much damage an A-10 can take. Fact is anyone armed with a few SAMs and trained on the will kill anything low enough to use a gun. Get to an altitude where you are safe from short range stuff and you are just dropping bombs and firing missiles. So what makes an A-10 any better than a fighter at that point?
@thejunkmanlives
@thejunkmanlives 9 жыл бұрын
1989theblacknight that's not true. F35 was designed as a multi role fighter from day one. Which includes air to air, air to ground etc.
@thejunkmanlives
@thejunkmanlives 9 жыл бұрын
your forgetting how much overall air defenses have improved since A-10 was designed. Its great against the extremist but we have to consider better trained and equipped enemies that will field advanced shoulder fired weapons and other air defenses. What we need is a successor to A-10.

Besides the Stovl variant, the f-35's performance will not be much different than an F-18 or 16, from what I have read. I am not talking about section and stealth capabilities. Sad there is no gun at all. Edit: At the time of my initial post I was aware the USAF version will have a gun with limited ammunition.

F14 can carry 6 missiles... that one only 2 aim-9...2 AIM 120... F14 has over 2,2 mach speed That one barely 1,6.. F14 can fight in Close 1 on 1 combat... that one CANNOT Even a Hot Air balloon is more agile ! F14 is one of the most capable fighter jets in BVR... That one is not...That one is blind... I dont remember that ...F14 had more than 300 problems on its appearance... That one has over 700 ! F14 costs ~38 million USD... That one costs over 100 each ! My fiend.....Fail 35 was created for 1 main reason... To sell it to fools and US slaves like the mongolians...believing that this one is also stealth...but is not even that. Fail 35 is the clearest example of fail ONLY by LOOKING AT IT ! Do not even compare it with F14. Do not compare it with none...to be more specific... And uhhhh... PS Do me a favor...and your self.... The Chinese and Russians have there own version of this plane for years, there better, and they work. And were exited because we got a plane to land on a carrier. Thats embarrassing, these F-35's are too expensive, they need to be repaired every time they land and require a climate controlled hanger.
@anderslindstrom2336
@anderslindstrom2336 9 жыл бұрын
What bullshit are you spewing? Neither the Chinese J-20 nor the PAK-FA have gotten anywhere, and are at least ten years from being able to compete with the F35. Further, the F35s cost for mass production (At least the A Model), is now down to 80 million per aircraft. Also, can you cite your sources as to how the PAK-FA and J-20 are supposedly superior aircraft to the F35?
@WSOJ3
@WSOJ3 9 жыл бұрын
+Lindstrom. Yeah, and not to mention the Chinese and Russia versions are not cheap either. Even a previous generations Su35 costs $50 million. The F35 costs $100 million, but is much more sophisticated than Su35. When T50 and J20 goes to production 10-15 years later, I doubt they'll be any cheaper than F35.
@machia-mw1lm

Actually the F35 may be a bargain. Have any idea what separate airframe systems would have cost? In any case the airplane is proving herself with trials by the USN, USMC and the USAF. Yeah, turning weaponry money into looking for cures for disease is a societal dream, but sadly remains a dream due to mankinds obsession with conflict and the growing cancer of Islamicfacism.
