Yes dear Irfan in 1965 war I was 15 years old and was in Lahore. I saw live dog fight Pakistani and Indian jets. We were so emotional that we went on the roof of our house and looking at air craft running against each other. Finally Indians ran away. Generally we stay out of pur home whole night. Digging trenches and guarding our area. Waiting if any indian paratrooper comes we grab him or to look any spy if he give light towards sky. It was very different feelings against our enemy. Which I still have. We did defense training conducted by army after war. Learn to fire 303 gun fire, drill etc. We were ready to go to border but our army jawans were there. I am now 68 but still having same jazba to fight. I am waiting if any indian comes I am there to handle him.

I watched an F86 lose power/stall at 50 feet on takeoff after an airshow in Sacramento CA back in 1972. He did a hard carrier style landing, skidded over 1/4 mile through the dirt field, across a busy street and through the front doors of a very crowded Farrells Ice Cream Parlor, killing 22 people(including 12 children). The pilot was injured but lived. He later did a nose dive in a P51 on final approach and died, along with his attorney in the back seat. The cause was never found, but the Farrells crash was ruled pilot error. I can only imagine what he had gone through.

Apologizing in advance if this is a bit lengthy. in 1957 dad was an F-86 flight instructor at Williams AFB, AZ. At the armed forces day open house, dad waslow flying "tail end Charlie " in an 8 ship formation. After the formation landed, a lone F-86 did a high speed/low level pass that wowed the spectators. This 8 yr old boy had tears running down his face, screaming "That's my dad!" About an hour later, dad joined me just in time to see an F-104 do a high speed pass. I remember the awestruck look on his face watching the 104 go near vertical on full burner. And yes, 7 years later he went mach 2 in the 104.

As we know, North American designed the P-51 Mustang - one of the greatest aircraft of all time. That alone would be an enormous achievement, but they also designed the F-86 Sabre. Huge. But wait, there's more. They also created the T-6 Texan and the B-25...and the X-51...and the Super Sabre...the XB-70...the Bronco...and bonus credits for significant components of the Apollo launch vehicle, the B-1 Lancer, and the freaking space shuttle orbiter no less through the merger with Rockwell. Some of the most aggressive and powerful looking aircraft ever designed. What a lineup!

The F86 had an afterburner in the last few mods performed on the series. I saw one while in Korea. That was the most updated model the Koreans had in 1968. It could really fly. And I’d call the F86D model, in my opinion is the prettiest nicest design the Americans had. It has sex appeal. And it looks like it flying when it’s standing still. And the after burner was just icing on the cake. Fly long, live long, FLY FIGHT WIN! And it had six(6) honking 50 caliber guns.

I saw a Sabre in 1885 at the RAAF air show Edinburgh base in South Australia. Of all the passes the Sabre did the lowest. I still remember it now. I could see a spec on the horizon and suddenly it was upon us barely above the runway with undercarriage up.... The best looking aircraft I've ever seen. It was the same show where 2 Mirages broke the sound barrier in formation and apparently caused $1,000,000 damages to local glass/greenhouses.

The F86 is certainly like a Mig15 when it was waiting for take off. You can see the fumes at the back. Unburnt kero. Have seen the Mig15 a few times in Australia. Was right beside it at one startup. Kero fumes all around. This guy did a good job but it certainly is not as spectacular as a Mig15. Maybe it is the Pilot but the guy in Australia took it virtually straight up often. That was one of its strengths from memory. Climb rate and ceiling.

Awesome video. When I was a kid there was a particular airshow that was coming up that had me excited. Word had it an F-86 and MIG-15 would be flying. I figured it might be the only time in my life to see a MIG up close and to see a Saber do something more than being a static display. I lived in El Toro California and for years my alarm clock was a bunch of Hornets starting up in the morning, this was when I hadn't developed the deep hatred that I know have for the hornette. I never missed an airshow, I had a great view when the F-18 decided it really wanted to be a plow. The MIG driver was sick and I figured well now I guess I'll never see a MIG fly. And I was right although in about 2000 3 Sukhois gave us quite a show...... Anyways the Saber pilot still intended to fly for us. I managed to get as close as you could and had a perfect view of a very brief show. He does a high speed loop just a bit too low and slams into the runway. The Saber still FULL of fuel immediately fireballs from one end of the runway to the other. It was a shock feeling the heat from the fireball. Videos of it are on KZbin 1993 F-86 crash El Toro.

@e james The engines were not ready !!!!! Without engines planes don't fly !!! UK and the USA flew their first jets within a couple months of the Germans !!! And when the Me262 was put into service, Germany was desperate and the plane was NOT ready !!!
@Jupiter__001_
@Jupiter__001_ 5 жыл бұрын
@e james But the Germans did not have the resources to produce the engines with anything better than regular steel, which caused the engines to have a very low critical failure temperature. On the other hand, the British engine for the Meteor had far better life-expectancy. Besides, even if the Me-262 entered full production in 1942, they weren't _that_ much better than the later Mustang models. In addition, they were much more expensive to build than a 109 or a 190, mainly due to a lack of expertise at the time. Honestly, what could a few 262s do against endless 1000 bomber raids that flattened entire cities, destroying factories needed to make more 262s? This problem was intensified by the severe fuel shortages in Germany, as they would fail to capture Stalingrad and the Baku oil fields from the Soviet Union that summer. The reason I mention fuel shortages is because turbojet engines, particularly the early models, consumed vast quantities of fuel compared to the equivalent propeller-based engine. This is why airliners today all use either turboprops (for shorter flights generally) or turbofans. Even ignoring all these issues, the 262 would merely prolong the inevitable defeat. The only way I can see a potential Axis victory for WWII is if Germany and Romania pushed for Stalingrad, the Caucasus and Baku immediately so as to seize the oilfields. That would be an extremely risky play, and doesn't solve the core issues of the Germans expecting a short war. This is evidenced by the fact that the Germans actually conscripted men from their weapon factories for the war, just as they had always done, for example when attacking France or Poland. TL;DR The 262 wasn't ready in '42, and even if it were, it wouldn't have made enough of a difference.

Does anyone know if these Sabres have been re-engined or do they still have the J-47's?

Dalton Rhodes would be cool if they did still have one flying. A mig-17 is a good substitute tho.

i completely love the fact that you did not add music. I wish airshows would also stop playing music. I love the sound of the engines. I also don't need to hear "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns and Roses every *#@^!ing time I go to an airshow.

May 16, 2019----Thanks for the video. What I find strange is how so many older aircraft keep popping up and being found. Anyone remember when it was believed there were NO P-51A, B, P-38E or P-61 as examples, known to exist in the world except maybe in some museum? But here they are now.
