Start of 4th round F.A. (Football Association) Cup match between Everton and Liverpool. GV Everton, in striped shorts, kick off and work the ball down into their second division opponents half. GV Crowd. Everton force a corner. LV T. J. Eglington takes the corner, but the Liverpool defenders deal with it and get their own attack away. SV Liverpool attacking. Bill Liddell cleverly rounds his man and fires in a hard left foot shot to put Liverpool one up. LV Crowd cheering. LV Everton attacking. Other end, but again the Liverpool defenders break it up and they send their attack away. SV Ball sailing through the air. John Evans receives, beats the advancing J. O'Neill, passes to Eric Anderson. Anderson to Alan Acourt who shoots and scores. Pan, crowd cheering. Half time score Liverpool 2, Everton 0. LV Everton attacking. The ball bounces around the Liverpool goal mouth until a hefty kick relieves pressure and sets the Liverpool attack away. SV Acourt chasing the ball. A hefty charge by E. Moore sends him spinning. LV Crowd. LV Liverpool attacking. Brian Jackson fires in a low cross shot. O'Neill dives to save, but the ball rebounds to Evans who scores Liverpool's third goal. LV Crowd cheering. LV Other end, Everton have a period of intense pressure. E. F. Wainwright taking corner. Ball is partly cleared but a long shot sails towards goal. SV Douglas Rudham tipping the ball over for another corner. CU Man in crowd. LV Another corner taken by Eglington of Everton. The ball bobs around until H. Potts tries with an overhead kick. Ball goes behind. CU Man in crowd. LV Jackson running with ball. He centres. Evans leaps to head Liverpool's fourth goal. Goalkeeper O'Neill hurts his shoulder in trying to save. LV Crowd. GV Fans swarming onto pitch after game. STV Teams leaving field. Final score Everton 0, Liverpool 4.

That was our worst ever league position we finished 11th bang on mid table in the championship which was the beginning of an 8 year spell in the 2nd division then someone named bill shankly took over and the rest like they say is history
