@@tomace4898 no it wasn’t at the time, I’m sure it was on an invite basis only, nothing like the prestige the uefa cup became. It’s a bit desperate to include that. For a club the size of Newcastle to go 70 years without a MAJOR trophy is terrible

​@@spider_hossThey did win the Fairs Trophy in 1969 which was the precursor to the Cup Winners Cup. In the Newcastle side against City that day was one Bob Stokoe, probably more famous for leading us to our win over Leeds in 1973.
