F.A.Q. Scale Modeling Book Overview and Finished P-51B

In this somewhat exciting episode, I let you take a look at a great scale modeling book, "Aircraft Scale Modeling F.A.Q." by Daniel Zamarbide. I also show of a recent Tamiya 1/48 P-51B in which I used tips from the book to paint.

Very nice Mustang! Don't sweat the shade of blue on 352nd FS Mustangs, even the so-called experts can't agree. I have always felt that scale model building is 60% historical accuracy and 40% art, so as an artist - I use my license freely. Please keep up the great videos, they are very inspiring.

I transferred all my Tamiya and Gunze paints into dropper bottles..... Best of both worlds

Nice P-51 (Tamiya's C/Mk.III) is a real shake and bake kit, just an annoying landing light fitment and Horrid decals, had the decal mask set, but didn't have the confidence to use it, sadly that's out of the window now, as I survived a stroke.

Revell makes a decent 1:48 scale F105D. i have built a few of them and loved how they turned out.

Nice! Love the 352nd FG blue nosed aircraft. I'm looking to do a trio of Tamiya 1/48 to represent the types they flew - ie: a P-47D Razorback, a P-51B and a P-51D, one for each of the squadrons.

Amazing finish your P-51! I have had this book a few years, and you are right, it's a great resource. With regards to 48th scale F-105s, hobbyboss do a very nice one, I would actually say it's superior to the 1/32nd Trumpeter one in terms of fit and accuracy.

You build great models. But I have one that it seems like everyone is staying away from. The Infinity Models 1/32 SB2C Helldiver and now I know why. What a headache. Instructions nor clear, parts not numbered or on the correct spur, etc, etc. But if you build WWII planes you have to have this one. It would be interesting if someone with your skills would have the same issues that I have encountered.

Awesome Mustang build. I had the same problem with the leading edge wing light. I used the kit lens and sanded it in with super glue, however it's nowhere as nice as yours. Which UV Resin are you using? I've looked on line and theres 800 different ones available. Not sure which one to us.

Another great build! In your video you mentioned that you painted all the markings and again they came out looking excellent. On my F7F-3 that I"m just about finished with I deiced to try and paint the white Stars & Bars on the all blue finish. Using the Montex mask set for this kit I applied the mask and used M.R.P. paint insignia white, after painting I removed the mask . Upon close inspection there were white raised edges in some spots. I tried to sand the edges smooth and the raised area left a ragged edge on the insignia. How would resolve this type of problem? Thanks for any input!
