Great analysis. Thanks a ton for the lecture! Chopin's lovelife has caused quite the debate recently. Many love letters Chopin wrote to men (!) have been retranslated and are part of a radio programme called "Chopin's men". Have you heard about it? I can definitely recommend it. It's around 2h and very well-done. My personal conclusion is that Chopin's lovelife was even more difficult than we already thought...

It's a difficult question. I am Polish so I understand Polish letters and I must tell you that in XIXth century it was normal to write such letters to male friends without having a sexual relationship with them. But in the end, it's not so important... Music is everything!

Thank you for the illuminating analysis. Thank you for the historical context and the insights into the emotional and life predicaments of Chopin. The psychological perspectives you provide are so so helpful. Do you have any tutorials that explore the fingerings in different editions? Chopin is so pianistically accessible but some editions bring out a different ability to play legato and strict dotted rhythm s Do you have any recommendations? Your empathy for Chopin as part of the overall approach to interpretation is a gift to the world. Thank you. 🎵 Let me rephrase my question, rather than speak of a particular edition, Do you have any general concepts re use of fingering in Chopin?

Well.... The fingering is in my opinion a very individual thing. Every hand is different, so everyone should experiment and learn how to find his/her own fingering. Chopin's original fingering not always is the best choice.

@@gregniemczuk Thank you for your response. I was surprised because when I started to study the Mikuli edition of the Opus 50 No. 3 fingering my shoulders felt more relaxed. May I ask you sir, what do you think are the easiest Mazurkas technically of Chopin, say 3 easiest if you have an opinion of this?
