The 24 Preludes were completed in 1839. It was inspired by Bach's Well Tempered Clavier and consists of pieces in 24 different keys. Rachmaninoff and Scriabin also have preludes consisting of 24 keys.
No. 15, which I performed this time, is famous for its name “raindrop. The continuous playing of A-flat (G-sharp in the middle part) seems to represent dripping raindrops.
