I felt an emotional connection to Alma and I thought the game was very...honest, for lack of a better term...PM I think introduced those red-eyed ghosts and PM was genuinely frightening, EP had some interesting story developments, but I liked FEAR.

It had better weapons and you actually got to fight with teammates who were just as lethal as enemy AI and even with teammates, the game's horror elements was still very good.

I think a lot of people underestimate how much of a victim Fettel was AS WELL as Alma. A lot of fans talk about how sad Alma's story was, but Fettel had it really bad, too, which is what lead to him being so accepting of Alma's influence. From the moment he was born, Fettel wasn't being treated like a human being. Armacham treated him like military hardware. He's called "property" and people say he needs to be "put down" like an animal rather than a person. He never had any freedom, was kept in a small cell for most of his life, was constantly tested on as the sole subject for Project Perseus, likely saw no affection EVER. No wonder he clung to and trusted the first voice to ever talk to him like he had more non-monetary worth than a refrigerator. It doesn't excuse ANY of what he ended up doing, but you can see WHY he did it. How he rationalized getting from point a to b in his head.

F.E.A.R.'s story had a point. Was fairly original. The idea was paraphrased by Harlan: "It is the way of men to make monsters. And it is the nature of monsters to destroy their makers." FEAR 2 kind of just did a less effective job of reiterating the same point. There was no real innovation in it like in F.E.A.R. And yes, FEAR 3 was basically Call of Duty crossed with Left 4 Dead. The L4D part wouldn't have been so bad if it didn't REPLACE everything that made the previous games fun.

@@trabuco9 f.e.a.r 1 didn't really explain the lore. Also the biggest scare it has is the infamous ladder one which is fine because it was focused on being a gun fu shooter. Gmanlives who preferred the first does a pretty objective unbiased review and he played the first one when it came out and overall prefers it. But it is known for its physics and gameplay over its story. It creates a creepy atmosphere bit isn't really scary unless you consider bucket loads of gore spread as scary.

I remember my granddad showing me and letting me play F.E.A.R when i was about 9, letting me see all his secret tips and tricks. That game scared the living hell out of me but i was intrigued, later we exchanged games and talked about them after, F.E.A.R never left my mind and its such a unique game, my granddad really taught me to play some beautiful games, im glad he introduced me to pc gaming, it was awesome having this in common with him, he was a great guy, RIP Granddad

Not for a some time since both Monolith and Warner bros interactive have other projects to keep them busy. Monolith probably focuses producing expansions for Shadow of Mordor and Warner bros isn't probably actively looking another development studio for F.e.a.r franchise, since their next big thing is going to be Batman: Arkham knight.

1:33 That part of the song where Replica Soldiers stormed into the security room to gun down the Armacham guards always stuck to me. To me, it was seeing a part of Paxton Fettel's rage thrown against the people who had Alma, Point Man and himself treated like lesser humans for many years, and throws those years of torment back against the same people.

Clone soldiers, next generation weapons, mech suits, government secrets, people with superhuman gifts such as telepathy, and angry spirits from beyond the grave. this game was basically if we had a crossover between Metal Gear and The Grudge. I played this game to death when it was released. there has yet to be another game that scared me as much as this one. seriously, one jump scare almost made me turn the console off. I was shaking. I hope to see this game come back some day. it deserved more than what it got. Fear 2 was ok but Fear 3 left me very unsatisfied.

FINALLY! somone who shares my viewpoint! The thing that really sticks to me is how at the end of fear 2, 2 things didnt get resolved. 1. Beckett and his team mates had quote "more than enough to sink armacham forever" they didnt use that research in fear 3. 2. As stokes says "I hope its not one of those horror movie things were she uses your deepest fears against you that would suck". That last bit has me thinking, was alma really pregnant? Did stokes really get shot? Because that would be using

Want something really creepy? Alma appears from where Kiera got shot and Kiera disappears. A demo with an unused scene shows Alma approach an unconscious Kiera. There are some pretty creepy theories that she used Kiera to get pregnant.

I guess I liked FEAR2 because it was the first game of the FEAR series I played. It was my first "horror-FPS". I really liked the cut scenes, easter eggs and some shocking moments (the school for instance). People kept telling me that FEAR1 is scarier in another way so I felt the need to get it. They were right. The gameplay was way more fun and the mindfu** moments were just crazy. Anyways - the real disappointment was F.3.A.R. with its pointless storyline/ending(s) and COD-like gameplay.

And finding Vettel won’t be difficult: he has a sensor implanted in his head that gives away his location. He will not have any protection; one of the conditions of the program is the safety of the commander; he does not fight along with the rest of the soldiers, but only controls them at a considerable distance. The protagonist of the game is the new operative officer “F. E.A.R.”
