Great job as always! I really like the little explanations in the bottom. As someone from Pamplona, the never-ending roadworks on the french A63 seemed like an eternal torture haha... But now that it's finally done, it's way better than the spanish side. You can immediately notice the sharp decrease in road quality when you cross the border southward. Nothing says "welcome to spain" better than our disrepaired roads and railways XD

Las autopistas en Francia son impecables, pero en el resto de carreteras España lleva la delantera. No hay más que ver el Somport, o cualquier otra fronterza pirenaica.

At least during daytime XD. As french roads does not have any sort of reflectors roadside or a very few compared to spanish counterpart, A63 included (less certain for railways, I remember the Topo metric line having way better and cheaper train services than its counterpart beyound Bidassoa river).

You showed me parts and pieces of the highway that I haven't seen before. I do follow truckers that used to take this highway, and once in Spain, would take the backroads to Pamplona. lol Thank you for the little adventure, and looking forward to the next one!!!

Thank you very much for your comment! It was a pity that I couldn't film the rest of the trip, but I'm glad you enjoyed what i had to offer.

Hi, who are you asking?

Hi, indeed a very nice comparison, thank you! I drove there also in September 2019 and visited also Bayonne, it is a very intersting town with an extended historical area. The whole motorway from the intersection with A660 near Bordeaux was already 3x3, excepting a section where the expansion works were ongoing. However, I don't understand why they don't do also the section near Bordeauy, as it obviously has the highest ammount of traffic.

Bayonne is indeed a very nice city, though Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz are gorgeous! As for A63, last news is that the terminal section in Bordeaux could be widened and integrated into the ASF concession to finance the works.
@Chepa_Faux3 жыл бұрын
It is not expanded near Bordeaux (between A660 junction and Bordeaux ring expressway) and it may likely never be done because it is a state-owned freeway (and Nouvelle-Aquitaine region decided to not pay for any major road upgrade, and there is no plan for this section AFAIK). Note that A63 between Dax and exit 18 (20 km south of A660 junction) was a 2*2 national freeway until it gets 2*3 lanes and became promoted to autoroute status in 2013 (and €8 toll since then).

I remember by the border a restaurant on a little mountain but I don't remember if it was on Spanish or France side. But the food was good. But it was also by this highway

@RoadsofEuropeverreme3 жыл бұрын

This was a very nice experiment, tho I much prefered the one I saw last week from PL & EU Highways: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6TSiZWaZ9OZqZo I already set it so that it immediately starts where I want, so. Here, it kinda came out of nowhere and I thought at first you ran out of cam space and you used the old footage to fix the issue.
@RoadsofEuropeverreme3 жыл бұрын
I also thought that, but I had so much information to share and I needed more video time. Plus I was not happy with the result of the 2015 and this allowed me to improve it. Anyway, thank you very much for your feedback! I'll explore other ways to show old vs new footage since in the upcoming years there are several road projects in my area that are being completed.
