These do look great. Nice to see 3rd party/ KO that's helping alleviate the headache many fans have trying to hunt down stunticons and/or experiencing yellowing plastic. If I was looking for G1 accurate, these guys would be perfect. How much was the set?

$109 on ShowZ. It's about 11 inches tall, so definitely for a legends display or smaller mainline figs or titan display.

So, I'm a chug collector man. I've seen the BW ko MS one compared with WFC, and Legacy figures, and no... They're much too small. Is this guy not a straight up ko, or upscaled minimally? I'd like to see this guy side by side with the mainline. Like in alt, bot, and combined mode. If the combined mode is at least as tall as jetfire I'd be ok with it. Is he? Is he as tall as siege Jetfire?

Well it is on OS KO of the magic square set the motormaster is the size of a regular sized deluxe in scale. The others are smaller. And they pose meh. But where it differs is in the combined mode. Together, the final product is spectacular. He is the same exact size in combined mode as the Seige Jetfire. I have a picture on the review of the two of them together.

My motor-master had a slight strees mark on it and dead end doesn't lock in all the way in one of the arm variations. Other than that, it's freaking perfect.

As a guy who has four of the five Stunticons, Breakdown was never available in the wild in Texas that I could see and the secondary market prices for him are fn stupid, I have mulled this set ever since I seen images of it. I am just now getting into the Legends game so I will probably get the MS and perhaps this upscaled version, just saw it on amazon for like 110 actually. No one reviewing these has done the scale vs the regular Hasbro figs tho. What is the height on the upscaled figs?

The top overlay in truck mode. Apparently that was an oddity because I asked around on forums and groups and no one else had that issue.

@@thedrunkenprime9374 If you can remove the parts that are stressed, boil some water in the microwave in a small bowl. While the water is bubbling hot open the door and put the parts in for about 10 sec. Do this a few times and it can usually correct stress marks in plastic. You have to be warned though that sometimes heating up plastic can change the pigment slightly.

I have him and I find with my copy my Deadend stays on on just fine . i absolutely love him and I purchased a second set so i can have one in Gestalt mode and the others ones I will display in either robot mode or vehicle since they are awesome in either mode. And he makes a good counter to the combiner wars Superion. I have the Hasbro legacy version as well. He is a little larger than the TW Menasor but in my opinion the TW version has the Superior engineering as it utilizes the whole trailer . just as the g1 did.

Both are good options and both have problems like the yellow issue on Legacy menasor or the joints loosening on the MS KO and I was gonna get the ko but the more bad stuff I heard the more I skipped on it and now I currently plan to get the new age animation colors devastator set.

I completely understand. My mototmaster came stressed out of the box, Show Z is usually good about replacement parts, so that's not a big deal. But the joints are tight on all the Stunticons and the Menasor feels great in hand. Plus the options are out of this world for a combiner. That New Age Devastator is on my list as well as I'm expanding my legends collection!

I love my Magic Square Menasor but, mine came with a broken left tab. It still connects but Magic Square is sending me a new arm, which I should get here within a week or two. If you're ordering a Magic Square figure, they're way cheaper buying directly from their website. You'll spend like a little over half what other sites are charging.

Oh absolutely. I honestly love this tigerwing KO. It has a couple of flaws, sure and a coupe of small QC issues that came out the box, but it's made me more than happy. I really want the MS one, but I'm only a part time legends collector. I honestly should just jump all in but I'm trying not to add any new lines simply because of expense.

As an aside, my commander class Motormaster is not yellowed, BUT, his freakin small bit mode shoulder is broken already! Like the hinge that holds the pin on one shoulder, has one broken off side, and I have to be insanely careful with it, making it not fun to fuck with. Like, I just KNOW, by MARCH, when I get the last one, I won't be able to form one or the other. I'll have to decide Menasor, or the team together, and leave it that way. I pretty much have to make that choice now, so I don't think I'll ever be able to get a whole team shot ever. I paid $85 out the door for him, but a replacement will cost me like $120 out the door today, way more by then I'm sure. I broke this dude, 3 days after the return window closed, so less than 5 weeks. I've got several hundred bots, am a 46yo collector, and know how to handle my toys, this guy just broke at a weak point in crappy plastic.

Oh, dude I'm sorry to hear that, have you tried Amazon, I don't know what region you're in, but they still have it at regular price if you were looking at a replacement. People said that the plastic seemed thinner than the rodimus but I assumed not by much. Yeah, I'm in my 40s and have seen it all as well, even handling some of these figs gently, they still occasionally stress or bend on me.

I bought the tigerwing set and it was my first KO, and I was very happy. The quality is there and the design is pretty darn good, there are a few gripes I have which is mainly the fact I can see the robot fists sticking out of one of the arms in combiner mode. I am invested in the Hasbro version though, but I may leave them all MISB.

It's a great set. So for the red card, the hands twist out on pegs. Just give a gentle twist and slowly pull the peg. That should clean up the look. I actually discovered that after I posted the review.

What a great topic. Legacy MM is $80 USD . That's 2/3 of what this KO costs. Hasbro is a billion dollar corp that is shamefully nickel and diming its fan base with cheap materials and min accessories. Legacy may very well be where I jump off of the Has/Tak train 🚂

For size, accessory options and overall quality control I've heard that the Magic Square Menasor (which is essentially the same size) is the better figure/set of figures for the Stuntacons.

It's a great figure! It really hits all the notes, but on a little better scale than the Magic square. Yeah, I totally agree with you about Hasbro, they just aren't the same company anymore. Outside of a handful of commander class figs I might pick up here and there, I'm 3rd party ALL the way!!!!

I think I need one of these. I have the Hasbro one minus the two figures that aren't out yet, and 2 MP scale X-Transbots figures. It's going to cost an arm and a leg (excuse the pun) to finish the MP one, so I may just get this as the screen accurate one and be done with it. The mainline is OK, but I'm just disappointed with some of it. The head could have been tonnes better and I don't know why it doesn't look exactly like the show, the sword is just stupid, the arms look too long for me, the bit left over from the trailer after combining is weird, and then the Breakdown being a retool of Wildrider, but not changing it enough to look like a Lambo is unforgiveable. If they weren't already so far in with that figure, they should have started again as that is unforgiveable and then some. They should re-release that figure with the proper retool and with proof of purchase of the first one, you get him half price or something. I will say that there are plus points. Overall he is very good, but it just gets me that there are still so many issues with something like this. They prove themselves capable with so many of the figures over the last few years, like near perfection Hot Rods and amazing Dinos etc. and then we get others that just let that down. If they can make Blitzwing look like he fell off the screen into my hand in robot mode, then why not that level of accuracy for all of them? I don't get how you you can't get a head sculpt perfect everytime? The source material doesn't change so its not like you are fighting against anything like that. Unless they didn't want this one too perfect that the Gestalt MP line version down the line becomes a little more irrelevant as there is already a perfect one? But like you say, it's different audiences with different figures. Not everyone can afford an MP Gestalt. I wanted Raiden but if I did him, there would be a lot of the mainline characters I love not being bought and no Deathsaurus either. For most people it's one or the other. I could afford MPs if I only really bought MPs. I have bought 4 MPs in the last year, but they are the Datsun brothers so they are the cheaper end. I bought some bigger MPs for my son, by they aren't for me.

It's a nice figure. The combined mode comes out to around 11 inches, so it's good sized for a legends figure and scales well with them. It's great because I don't really have space for to many more MP combiners, so this is a nice alternative.

Just ordered this Tigerwing set from a seller in Texas. I was full in on the Hasbro one till they showed that shit show Legacy Breakdown. Fucking full on recycled parts and totally phoned in. Was obvious why they saved him for last, because had it been first or second in the Legacy set, people would have bailed. I will go ahead and pick up Legacy Dead End and Breakdown, but just to display in bot mode on a separate shelf with the other three I already bought, and keep Tigerwing displayed as my Menasor of choice on my main season 2 Decepticon shelf.

Yeah deadend and breakdown look great! I was actually shocked how well they turned out. My only beef is with the motormaster/Menasor. It just looked to incomplete and I wasn't going to invest in an upgrade kit to make it look the way it should've from the beginning. I hope you enjoy it, I personally love it. It pops on either my mainline or 3rd party shelves.

Yeah, with Hasbro, they half ass on most of their figures either reusing parts or making them hollow so you have to buy filler parts or upgrade kits to make them look better when you know they could do it for what they charge per figure. I'm being really picky these days with what I get from them or buying them at lower prices on eBay. Really thinking about going the Legends route too.

Nahhhhhh legacy menasaur far from sucks. The gun and sword are abysmal but I love motormaster and the skeleton of menasaur itself. Sure MS might be objectively better but it’s soooooo nice to be able to flip back n forth legacy when MS can be an absolute chore to transform. Legacy menasaur is just so fun and solid plus he scales perfectly with legends class figures.

I am glad to hear you enjoy it! But the fact is Legacy Menasor is like an inch taller than this one and an inch taller than Commander Jetfire. Scale-wise, he should be Titan class Devastator size, but he's several inches shorter. Plus, you are not forced to have the leg bots to close those ridiculous doors in the legs (which is there way of forcing you to buy the set). Oh, and this OS version is $109 out the door, where the Legacy one will cost you $200+ with taxes. Just saying, it's just a better option.

But the fact that you have to jimmy-rig the legs shows a flaw in the design. Plus is it possible to turn the legs and have the leg bots facing front rather than in the back while maintaining the asthenic? Or can you use the arm bots as the arms rather than only being able to attach it? Oh and swappable heads, chest and thighs? It's just a better overall experience. I'm glad you enjoy your Menasor, but the fact that there are wheels sticking off of it all over, lack of accessories and pieces that just sit around that can't be attached to the combined mode just shows how lackluster and uninspired the overall Hasbro offering is.

I'm getting there as I'm starting to buy more and more Magic Square figures. I've also got a couple of Fans Toys, MMC, Mastermind Creations and others. They just look so much better. I want a G1 Jetfire but it's way too expensive so I went with the God of Flame Macross figure and just threw on the Autobot symbol. Looks close enough and the figure itself is way better.

It's crazy. Hasbro is losing money to these 3rd party companies because they put out crap. There's no excuse for it other than greed. They had a Warehouse Sale a few months ago that lasted two weeks and knocked just about everything down by up to 35% if you were a member! That just goes to show you how much they are willing to lose on their products. Just think how much better their stuff would sell at 35% less or if they actually put 35% more of that into making a better product!

Having the sword break up...nah. Hasbro tried that 🦈💩 with Combiner Wars Motormaster, where the Menasor sword splits apart about ⅔ of the way to become a decent Motormaster sword (that would probably look better with the limb bots) and a *really* fugly gun that makes the DX9 thunder beetle to Menasor gun look amazing by comparison. 😏😏😆😆🤣🤣 But you're right about not wanting to drop five or six Benjamins and change on a MP Combiner. Especially not when I got the Jinbao oversized KO of Generation Toy's Devastator for like 187 from eYou Collection...them KO manufacturers need to get on the ball and do a KO set of either the DX9 "Attila" or X-Transbots "Monolith" Menasor offerings already!!

Great points! Yeah, I love MP combiners, but the overall price, (sometimes) annoying transformations, space taken and time waiting for all the bots to be released really turned me off to them. I was attempting to get all the x-transbot stunticons but when I saw how much the motormaster trailer was going to be, I just said "nah, I'm good".

Hey real quick: Something you gentlemen may have failed to consider is that this product was produced via essentially a stolen design. No money was used by this company in the design department even slightly, all of that money was used by another company called Magic Square who specializes in legends-scale figures. In fact, the original product despite being smaller is nearly two times the price. Now I won't judge you for your decisions on what you buy of course but it is ultimately unfair to compare this theft of design to anything designed and produced from scratch. Personally I prefer the legacy menasor in most areas, the individual robots are correctly in scale with the rest of my collection and I feel the sculpt is clearer and sharper, as well as more detailed. The face and head sculpts are much better as well, and it is also bigger. A more fair comparison would be to the original product, which is half the size and the same price.

Valid point (and you are judging with the first paragraph...lol). but the design of the legacy menosar is also "borrowed" from 3rd party designs. Where do you think they got the idea to use the trailer as the body of menosar? As well as the parts forming to do it? We saw what happened with combiner wars when they have nothing to base their design off of. The legacy menosar looks cheap and they spared EVERY expense to give him a crappy sword, gun and left over kibble that will just sit in a box somewhere never to be seen again. Hasbro can make bangers when they want (pretty much all the other commander class figs) but they totally missed the mark with this one.
