Another perspective on meal times and names is Dinner is around midday for working class and children, and is in the evening for white collar and toffs. The meal designations used to be Breakfast, Tiffin, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, High Tea, Dinner and finally if you could get off the chair Supper. All in the course of an Edwardian Gents day.

Good Evening Lee. The Incredible Silvers Deli did look really Nice from the outside. Very Friendly and Welcoming Servers behind the Serving Counter. Two Lovely young Intelligent Ladies serving Yourself and the other Customers with a Good Happy Attitude. I have never been to a Subway Eaterie, and i do not really Fancy it. I did like what You had chosen Lee. Three Large Open Sandwich's for Yourself and Your Family. I also, agree with You having some Family Privacy whilst you were together having your Food. I grew up on a small dairy farm in the USA Midwest. We got up at 4. After doing the prep work for the morning milking we'd have breakfast. At 9 we had lunch, usually sandwiches. The noon meal was called dinner and it was the biggest of the day. Around 3 we had lunch again. Then after the evening milking we had supper around 7. When I came home from college calling the noon meal lunch and the evening one dinner, my parents thought I had become a communist.

I like Subway..... I've ordered the same thing for 20 years an Italian Herb and Cheese BMT with every veg in it and Mayo. At a time when I see sandwiches now for £3-4, a footlong sub at £7 or whatever it is (not been in a couple years) is pretty good value.

In the Polish Catholic small town that I grew up in, the noon meal was called "dinner" or "lunch" (interchangeable) and the evening meal, served around 6 pm, was called "supper". It wasn't until I went to university that I found most people called the noon meal "lunch" and the evening meal "dinner". Maybe the evening meal was called "supper" due to the prominence of the Last Supper in the Catholic faith.

Being American, we lack tea time, which is a real shortcoming. Lunch and supper, dinner is a more elaborate form of supper. We don't have Silver's, but do have Subway. Subway is over rated, over priced, and low qualty. You have to request double meat to even have a edible sandwich. Not difficult to do better than Subway, the bar is not set high at all! Love pickles, but not on my sandwich, on the side.

Subway is a franchise, so staff experiences will vary. I love my healthy non grilled chicken with all the salad subs, the most vegetation I ever eat in a single meal. If there was a family owned version nearby, of course I'd go there, but remember, a lot of Subways actually are family owned, so treat them as you find them.

Quite right about most of Bradford, some nice areas on the outskirts though. The world is much too pc now to comment on certain majorities of drivers in said town. Nuff said. Great video. Silver's just around the corner from my old workplace Bramley bus depot. Bit pricey though.

Here in Nottingham I've always been of the mind that Breakfast time is obvious..11.30am-2.00pm is Lunch/Dinner and Tea Time is what you eat after about 3.30pm.....and i bloody hate gherkins,finally when the nights start to draw in I will be eating my Tea by the light of the Big Light.
