I’ve went to Afghanistan Kabul a year ago, my best friend is Afghan and I love his culture so much he convinced me after years to go with him. As an European I was afraid they would recognize me as a foreigner and try to kidnap me. But he promised me there would happen nothing bad with me. I went with him for week and a half. And it was SO AMAZING! We went to this beautiful garden something like bog of babur. (Sorry if I typed it wrong). Their food is delicious, their hospitality is unmatched & the view is great! It was truly unforgettable. I saw nothing dangerous like they told me on television. I can’t say I felt completely safe (because I dont know the language, the culture, the road & more) but after 2 days I really felt comfortable with my friend. His family showed me so much love maybe i go next year to see them again.

I have to correct you on something. The Taliban didn't destroy the Buddha statue because of any religious reasons. The story is that the Taliban had demanded aid from the international community because the population in afghanistan was starving and that was refused. However, the international community was willing to send money to renovate the Buddha statue. That angered Taliban officials because the international community gave more importance to an inanimate statue than living human beings. So as a sign of protest, the Taliban destroyed the statue.

Band Amir, Bamijan BUdha, Herat, Mazar sharif and of course the story of imam ali the dragon slayer and the afghan-style baitullah. I finally got to see it all. Thank You Phil. Morocco is beautiful but I stand in awe from this video. We see so much change happening in the world, hegemony contracting, de-globalization, the rise of the BRICS and Global South - and this video proves how the 3rd world is about to prosper and grow like bamboo. So many poor countries will keep their wealth, as it should be, in all fairness. I'll be returning to see more videos. Awesome work. Thank you 🙏

I'm not at all surprised to see that's Afghanistan - it's exactly as I remember it from April 1972, when I spent a month in Herat and Kandahar and Mazar-i-Sharif in the north, when the king still ruled and all their troubles had not begun. It was then a fascinating place, with the history of conquerors told in the faces of the fiercely proud people. I went again in 1977, but everything I'd known in the cities had changed. The "hippie trail" was no more and all the hotels had been taken over by the locals. What does surprise and please me is that it's so easy to travel there now. I had imagined that it would still be too dangerous, but you've inspired me to go there again. I'm also amazed that the exchange rate is nearly the same as in 1972, when the USD was 80 Afghanis - the cost of a basic hotel. I'll be inclined to travel as I did then - by local buses, with simple Afghan people. So glad the country has survived the US Army.

In any case, thank you for sharing the beauty of our land, people, and culture. I hate that people automatically assume the worst about the entirety of Afghanistan. There's definitely things to improve on, but it's not all bad like people assume. I love how connected they are still to nature (I wonder if that's why everyone's skin is so clear haha). @@Phils_Guide any story about that blue lake ? Why I not see people using boat there ? Forbidden?
@yousafsarwary49615 ай бұрын
@YaAlexYaAlexYaAlexYaAlex Hi there, I am an Afghan, so regarding your question, there are peddle boats ( small plastic 2-person boats) which people use, but the water of Amir Dam has hight quantities of minerals and other materials which makes the water dense, it's depth is unknow (because we don't have the technology to measure that), so people can't maneuver certain parts of the lack. (i.e. they can't go to the furthest parts.) But they can ride those peddle boats near the chore. I hope this clarifies.
