Repeating his 1984 film role as Antonio Salieri, F. Murray Abraham reads Amadeus by Peter Shaffer, adapted for solo performance by Neville Teller. The eight parts which constituted the original performance have been edited together into one. Recorded for BBC Radio 2 in 2006.

F. Murray Abraham is an actor of the highest caliber. On the level of an Anthony Hopkins. His Academy Award for his role as Salieri was well deserved. Why did we not see him in more big roles is not clear to me.

In 1986, while filming The Name of the Rose, he had just won an Oscar, so he considered himself superior to Sean Connery, who at that point hadn't yet won an oscar, and made it a point to be late on set to demonstrate his superiority. This, among other stories, gives a glimpse into his personality, and is probably one of the main reasons he was ostracized in Hollywood.

Fantastic, entertaining audio production of my favourite composer. Peter Schaeffer did an intriguing, though mainly fictitious job of Amadeus. In the movie, All the cast were imo, perfect in their parts. I am enjoying this audio drama immensely and will keep it as one of my favourites for listening to time and time again. 🎶👍😊❤️

To me..... to hear the legend academy award winner wear the skin of Saleri once again, quite possibly might be the greatest KZbin find I personally ever discovered! My favorite film ... Now my favorite audiobook....... Bravo seniore! Bravo........... Last thing: Saleri wasn't held as an absolute elite composer in this fascinating immaculate film...... He was incredible and very blessed by Christ , rather he believed that or not.... He was truly astonishing in his own right......
