Intrigued by the valve lapping technique. I've only used a wooden stick with a rubber suction cup, which attaches to the valve face. Spinning the stick between your hands with the valve seated in compound in place, periodically checking for fit. Like that you get it running first, time later for the cosmetics. Great job.

Love the design with the headlight like a motor from fallout
Didn't know Daikin made small engines or used to. I'm familiar with Daikin (Bought out Goodman) HVAC equipment like furnaces, AC's and Mini Splits. Although Mitsubishi came out with the Mini Split first called the Mr. Slim.
cuando yo era joben reparaba motores diesel de tractores - colectivos ( bus ) - y maquinas agricolas -- ahora ya soy viejo estoy retirado de todo esa actividad -- pero me gusta seguir viendo motores
is it the same Daikin manufacturer, that is famous now for their conditioners for home and offices?

Yes. The company was always widely diversified, even in its early years; back in the 1930s they manufactured such devices as lubricators, steam boilers, air/water heat exchangers, CO2 fire extinguishers, aircraft radiators and even ammunition (which they manufacture to this day). Their history with air conditioning- a term which actually originated at the company- started as early as 1929 when they built units to cool their own factories. Expertise in fluoropolymer coatings developed during the war years led them to eventually produce their own refrigerants. They later developed a compact A/C system for naval warships, and provided the cooling system for the world's first air-conditioned commuter train in 1937 shortly before war broke out with China. After the end of WWII the company used their expertise in hydraulics and mechanical design gained during the war years to develop their own diesel engines for oil exploration and a line of light agricultural equipment. Daikin no longer makes agricultural equipment or engines, but they are still a leading supplier of hydraulic systems.

Hi, just a small question to you. Where in Japan do you live? I only know Tokio and Fukushima ( from the News ), but nothing more, Oh, I also know that place, where all the apes take a bath during the winter months. Thank you for your answer and have a nice evening. Cheerio Toni

Ah, there it is. I saw a few films from you ( that ones, with the big ships ) but I wasn't sure, that is your place ( city ). It looks pretty nice. Also it must be wonderful to live there, because you are surrounded by a few small mountains. It's almost the same, where I live, because I live directly in the Alps, near the border to Austria. So, many " Thank you " for your informations and I wish you a nice night and a good weekend. Cheerio, your pal Toni
