I saw the gripen in an air show in Jesolo a small town near Venice and Treviso north east of Italy, it was an hungary air force fighter, wonderfull plane.

It's so damn seldom you see these routes (or at least 2 planes) flying over Stockholm anymore, and when they do I always look the wrong way because it's over Mach 1.

To my knowledge, no fighter plane has ever flown over Stockholm over Mach 1. Just imagine the cost to replace every broken window in the city, there would many many thousand broken windows.

mrSkandalpolisen ; I can only say, when the sound from the left comes ca 5 seconds later when the 2 jets are dots, but recognisable (3m apart maybe) to the right, thats over the soundbarrier. Its different times now - things turn up we are not told about - like some years 20 simulated russian attacks w TU-22M's escorted by MIG-29's, against our capital city, we got to show force. I said it's highly uncommon. This was in a close suburb w not too many buildings.

What most people dont realize is that things have changed quickly in Swedish airspace lately; intrusions into (to close to) it are far more frequent than the general public gets to know, with MIG-29-escorted TU-22's carrying nukes. Sweden got to show force again in a way we haven't done since the 80's.

Were they actually CARRYING nukes (doubt it) or just practicing a nuclear strike on Stockholm?
