Now could you all imagine these ending animations done with modern technological advancements in a new F-Zero game on the switch. God damn, this is the kind of just, pure fun and quality put into a game, even if it makes no sense, that makes the F-Zero franchise so great. On the surface level it is a racing game, that's what everyone says, but the real fans know F-Zero is a bit more than that. It is a beloved universe full of charm, excitement, and....absurdity. No racing game's can pull this off along with challenging gameplay like F-Zero can. This is why we wan't a new F-Zero Nintendo. Not just because it is a franchise we haven't had a game for in years. But because it is a franchise that is uniquely original and successful. Fans will LOVE, and I mean, LOVE, any F-Zero product they throw out there really, because as long as it contains some of the same characters at the end of the day, we'll know the charm that was once there.

Fun fact: Toshihiro Nagoshi (former studio head of the Yakuza series) was a producer of this game alongside Shigeru Miyamoto. Hopefully these scenes make a little more sense knowing that information. It boggles my mind that after the superhero craze caused by Marvel Cinematic Universe, Boku no Hero Academia, etc. that they won't give F-ZERO another shot. Ah well, it's so amazing that they bothered to make theme songs and character videos for the 40+ characters in F-ZERO GX. I remember these videos were REALLY hard to unlock too and had to be done for each character, so probably only a small fraction of players even saw them at the time. So much effort; it shows they really cared about the game.

You know, not only is F-Zero GX an excellent game but this game also shows off Nintendo's compression skills at their best. This video length is 24 minutes, add to that the story mode cutscenes and you have over 30 minutes of CGI videos all stored on a GAMECUBE mini disc that holds 1.5GB of space which is super impressive! CGI vids always took up more space than actual video game graphic assets so it's astounding Nintendo was able to make all of those video files fit on the disc while also providing many racing tracks along with the racing tracks having their own music themes. To also add to that, all the racers have their own music themes you can listen to when viewing their biography. Nintendo packed the heck out of that mini disc with this game. I remember some people back then saying the GAMECUBE mini disc held Nintendo back because it couldn't hold as much space as the PS2 and XBOX regular size discs. But honestly if Nintendo was able to squeeze this much content on their small disc as they did with F-Zero GX, then other developers should have no complaints, especially if their game doesn't have many CGI vids. It would have been cool back then to have a game like GTA San Andreas release for the GAMECUBE.
