Unai Caballero at speeds above 1,100, not holding the accelerator is faster than holding it because holding it would make you go to your top speed faster. lol

You'll notice it after boosting as well. At very high speeds you decelerate at a slower pace with the accelerator off. As Tyler mentioned, once you drop below a certain threshold the accelerator is turned back on again. On courses where there is a lot of shift boosting sometimes you'll see him just coast for a long time with the accelerator off.

Xin Xiong At 0:52 when he goes off that slope at a particular angle he gets a shift boost by flying off and instantly landing, which is why he gets a speed boost out of nowhere.

You can beat it, just practice, put time and effort in this mission, quick turns what helps is middle between acceleration and max speed IMO.
