answered self- they were partners as bounty hunters before Goroh betrayed him. Makes a lot more sense.

So Guster was part of Gorro's gang for extra money was the bodygaurd of a criminal that put a price on his head so Gorro tried to turn him in, failed and Guster now wants revenge. Guster might be the f-zero chackter with the longest backstory

This is probably the best VA in all of the game. Because he doesn't make ittoo obvious he's reading the lines and probably had more than one take. Compare to Falcon (Hey, where are you taking mee?), Buster (a nice cold drINK?) and Zoda (too many examples)
