F-Zero Restored - Big Blue

Big Blue from F-Zero, lovingly restored to CD Quality, using the original synth sources!
This restore was done by Milon Luxy! Milon has long since been researching a good number of SNES games to find their sample sources, and is responsible for finding a ton of the sounds from the speculated SNES Sound SDK, of which F-Zero uses some sounds from! Armed with his knowledge, skills, and feedback from our internal project server, he has made some excellent sounding versions of these classic tracks, of which we hope you all enjoy!

This is awesome. I don't know if this was intentional in the original but at 0:09 in the original, the bass notes are played by the hihat (maybe they forgot to change the patch back to the bass since the bass / hihat share a channel?) but yours seems to fix that little notational error. It's still amazing how clear this is!

Wow, this is noticeably richer, it adds a good 10-25% more excitement to the track.

I love how the original lead in the C section sounds like a string in the higher octaves. It's not until it hits the lower octaves on the build later that you can tell that it's a muted trumpet. EDIT: Also that slap bass sounds SO MUCH BETTER! I wish the SNES sample kept that slap!

This is incredible. The one comment I'll make, though, is that the track (instrument balance etc.) likely was tuned according to how it sounded on the SNES, meaning a restoration like this might be ever so slightly off. It'd be interesting to know how they would have tuned it if it sounded this clean.

This isn't "restored." Big Blue on the SNES never sounded this clean. The instruments are too synth-y and whistly here, whereas it sounded much more muddled on original hardware. Not sure what the point of this is.
