The 1933 race is famous for the 100-lap battle... As from lap 1 up to the start of the last lap, a huge lead battle erupted between archrivals Tazio Nuvolari and Achille Varzi. Between those two, the lead changed more than 20 times. It only ended when both drivers overrevved their cars on the run up to the casino square. Varzi's engine survived, but Nuvolari's engine expired...

I have so much respect for drivers of older eras, the cars were unpredictable and they sat in a bomb basically, the fuel was around the cockpit so it could catch fire at any time Also how safety has changed over the 70 years of f1 is so impressive.

Great video! I love this track mod and use it all the time with the 1960s cars. You're almost fighting the car all the way around with those skinny tires and zero downforce. The only thing I don't like about the mod is that you can't end up going through the hay bales and into the harbour like Ascari did! Hope you enjoyed taking the Alfetta our for a drive!
