Great to hear Ayrton's voice and demeanor before the drama and often times consternation in later years. A golden age.

Yes! I'd never heard him commentate before. Excellent steady job, his respecting admiration for Mansell comes across well. And Ayrton's voice is clear, excellent English, not accented-up the way I thought it'd sound.

Really interesting to hear Senna commentate. Comes over very well. I detect he had quite a lot of respect for Mansell. That comes across even in a few brief comments here.

the start was so brave, passing prost off the line then going around the corner faster than him when he spun, in a slower car, mind boggling. the slide out of the pit exit was amazing, his sliding abilities are more impressive than keiichi tsuchiya

1980s pilots were the gods of the Olympus. Man we had F1, class B rally, the skill level and the heart riding those raw turbo beasts, death in every corner for the epic rivalry, that was just insane!

1200+ hp, manual shifting gears, one mistake and your engine is gone. All of that whit some 20% of the downforce cars have today. Senna would not even bother racing those "computercars"
@whyareytoutubeshite11 жыл бұрын
It is incredible to see how many people were crowded around in the pits in those days. Compared to todays F1 racing. It just seems so amatuer in comparison. Nevertheless, they were allowed to drive at racing speeds during those times. How times have changed.

@FormulaOneFan4Eva The Lotus actually was a quick and nimble car, but suffered from the typical Lotus reliability problems which were so typical of them once Colin Chapman had passed away. At the end of the season Honda sorted the engine and the Williams became the best car. McLaren-TAG weren't as dominant as they were in 1984, and on some tracks the Ferrari was clearly better. The turbo Renault was possibly the most powerful engine alongside the BMW, and Senna made the most of it.
@cleanco48034 жыл бұрын
Honda had the most fuel efficient engine over the race distance. From the following season they powered 7 straight constructors championships between Williams and McLaren.

Formula1Madx He's brazilian, and in portuguese the "e" in the end of a word might be mute depending on a person.In portuguese, that final "e" wouldn't be pronounced as in english "keKEY".A lot of us brazilians do that, even if we speak fluent english, we say the names as we would say in our language :)
