I have bought the Voightlander 40 f1,2 in z mount for my Zf camera. Very nice set up and give beautiful images. The manual focus assist on the Zf also works great with this lens. Love it

Thanks for watching! I’ve still been itching to try the ZF, I got to use the ZFC but don’t think it’s quite what I was looking for. I’ll need to check it out

Interesting that this video came up in my feed. I had been looking at this lens earlier to pair with my Lumix S9. I currently have the Sigma 45 2.8 and was looking for something manual focus and with a bit wider aperture. Nice video! 👍🏽

Thanks for watching! That’s exactly what I plan to do with my S9 as well, just havent had the chance to learn the camera menu to set it up for optimal manual focus settings

I had the 40/1.4 Classic M mount for a few years from 2014 & then when the 40/1.2 E mount came out I swapped over to that. So, no AF for me with it, but even with owning the 35GM for a few years now, I've still hung onto the Voigtlander 40mm - such a lovely lens to use.

I have enjoyed the f1.4 version as well, love the even smaller size of that one. But totally agree I’ve had the 35GM too and I just really love this 40mm, has such an amazing render

I have the 50 1.2 and agree with the lens characteristics as far as flow goes. For the 43mm look, I use my cheap Sony 28 2.0 on my a7cr which give me a 43 mm equivalent. The lens has pretty cool character and is exceptionally small for EDC

Thanks for watching! That’s a great compact affordable lens too

Very interesting. I didn't know you could adapt M-lenses to a Sony e-mount and get autofocus. That's a game-changer.

Yeah it’s been a amazing adapter. I got to use the first version a few years ago and this second one doesn’t disappoint. Can also get the Nikon Z version.

Agree. It's a game-changer

Does the adapter add a crop factor or change the f1.2 f-stop at all?

A budget alternative to this could be the AF Samyang 45mm f1.8. Judging by reviews from people like Dustin Abbott and Christopher Frost, it's good value for money

That’s a great alternative too! I’ve owned it before. Great image and bokeh, only issue I had with it was the MFD isn’t good.

@@MACROMARVIN Yes, I was considering the Samyang but since learning about using the Techart adapter with MF lenses (in part through your channel), I am reconsidering. The smaller Voigtlander 40mm F1.4 looks like a neat lens as well

@@MACROMARVIN there’s an upgraded version of this…most people don’t know about it because it’s in Samyang’s “cinema” line. Same 45mm f/1.8, but with weather sealing and Samyang’s latest AF. Terrific performer, IMO.
