After this season beryllium was banned and they stopped running the exhaust through the rear diffuser, so from 2002 onwards the McLaren-Mercedes V10 sounded like every other engine on the grid, and this unique sound was lost. What a shame.

@ from 1999-2001 Mercedes used a beryllium alloy to make the pistons for their F1 engines. That, combined with Newey designing the McLaren’s exhaust so that it ran through the rear diffuser created this unique sound compared to the other V10s. After 2001 beryllium was banned and they stopped the diffuser exhaust design.

@McLMP4-22 the 1999 Mclaren used Berrylium pistons but it didnt sound like this because the blown diffuser didnt come until 2000

@McLMP4-22 Physics don't care about the exhaust air being run through a diffuser, nor does it create such a suction out of the pipe that it would make the exhaust note treble note one octave higher, nor is it caused by a high pressure of the exhaust being run through the diffuser, but by a 10:5:2:1 exhaust instead of a 10:5:2 like all the other teams. There are 2 exhaust pipes, running into 2 headers, each connected to the left and right bank of 5 cylinders, with the engine being a 10 cylinder engine, hence 10:5:2, but McLaren Mercedes routed the 2 exhaust pipes into one, which so happens to exit at the rear diffuser, if anything providing for more downforce, this is the same principle used when creating an "F1" sound for a Lexus LFA, Porsche Carrera GT, Lamborghini Gallardo 5.0 and even 5.2 Gallardo, Hùracán, Audi R8 V10 and Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, Asterion, you name it, but for the 5.2 to create an "F1" sound, which is still possible, one would need to make up for the uneven firing order by making one side of the exhaust system, either left or right bank of the V10 a bit longer or shorter than the other side, simulating even exhaust pulses, after 19 years of the Audi/Lamborghini 5.2L V10 existing, since 2006, only in 2024 did a Brazilian exhaust maker make the 2016 and above Audi R8 V10 5.2 like an F1 V10. Although the treble note at about 650/750hz and not the usual treble note at about 325/375 of a "regular" sounding V10 isn't so prevalent in the Brazilian aftermarket exhaust like that of the Tubi exhaust for the 2003-2008 5.0 Gallardo, it's still a step forward, and of course it is made in either stainless steel, inconel or titanium. Really cool! Same principle goes for the current F1 V6, either one changes the firing order to uneven or routes the two exhaust banks into one and we would hear what would sound like a mini F1 V12 3.5 at about 13900 RPM, or is 12900 the rev limit for the current F1 V6.. can't remember.. same goes for a V8 engine, giving the Ferrari F355, F430, 430 Scuderia, 360, 458, F8 Tributo, SF90, 488, California, perhaps even a 288 the "F1 V8" exhaust note. Even pulses and the exhaust ending up in one tailpipe, or in the case of the McLaren- Mercedes Benz- Ilmor MP4/16, a diffuser pipe. It could just happen to exit above the drivers head at the headrest, at the sides outwards sidewards at the wheels like a NASCAR car, or anywhere else, but the exhaust principle stays the same. Hope this helped :-D You can experiment with this and your car that has 6 cylinders or more, and your garage, some pipes and some welding if you like, it's pretty fun

I’m not sure fortune comes into it. The Ferrari was fast but only in Michael’s hands. Rubens didn’t win a race. DC would have likely won Monaco without his engine not being started, Mika would have won in Spain bar a last-lap car failure and the wins in Britain, Austria and US beat Ferrari fair and square on pure pace.

David couthard e um piloto talentosíssimo arrojado diferente do demais ficou na fórmula 1 até o ano de 2009 foi o último penúltimo piloto a continuar na principal categoria do outmbilismo mundial começa nas categorias do do outmbilismo inferiores como f3 f300 e se eu me lembro não dei não entendo muito de carro mas eu acho que vi a sua história bom valeu 💯 acelera couthard dali escocês voador 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 lembro mais ou menos que ele ficou aí trás de Schumacher na primeira corrida do ano e venceu a etapa brasileira em Interlagos são Paulo foi a segunda dele a sua primeira foi em Portugal em 1995 e se não fosse o problemas mecânicos na etapa Argentina 🇦🇷 ele venceria duas ou seis show valeu irmão fui até aproxima c
