in regards to safety car comment (no safety cars) - you might want to check your settings, when I set up my career mode I noticed that the safety car was turned off by default.

Saftey cars are so random, there will be a 5 car pile up in the first turn, and nothing happen, but someone blows an engine and then it comes out. Like, wtf?

clarkie 72 lol i was in a mclaren too and on one race i literally skipped qualifying because i was on a old and worn out engine and i started P2 behind Ocon, all the other drivers had penalties 😂

Grid penalties take into account the number of positions dropped, so if you had a bigger grid drop than Ericsson then the game was correct regardless of the order the penalties were applied.

In my career something even stranger happened. I like the Monaco GP this year a lot. More than in last years's game (driving in a Renault) and I decided to switch my engine, so I obviously got a huge time penalty and even didn't set a lap time in Quali... in the end I started the race in P14 because of the other penalties )))

Ben lower your differential you will have faster lap times, it makes the car turn better and you can run lower downforce on your car and increase your speed. Trust me try it I dropped mine to 65% and I'm never going back the car is way more agile.

Ben, it seems that the AI are also affected by the part wear bug that was just fixed by CM with their latest patch - hence so many grid penalties.

Today i finished the first season of my career and in the last 5 rounds nearly everyone had a grid Penalty. In the Mexican GP there was a McLaren 3, 4, although they didn't make it out of Q1.

Is this system with the engine durability bugged somehow? In my career, already on the 5th race of the season, like 15 of 20 drivers got a GRID penalty due to changing the gearbox before completing 6 races. I race 25% with all Qualifying. It is IMPOSSIBLE to do 6 races with a single gearbox. And the engine has to be changed every 3 races as well. It doesn't seem well balanced...

I almost feel that they have over complicated the upgrade system. Yes they needed to extend it compared to 2016's version, however it's now gone the other side of spectrum to the point where it seems like you need at least 2, if not 3, years in order to make the McLaren Honda competitive. I know that in real life, they aren't competitive after 3 years but this is a game rather than real life.

In my career except for max, Verhwline how ever you spell his name got a grid penalty including me in Russia. It was almost like slower cars were ahead of faster ones which made things very tricky.
