I think f1 2018 should make part failures more likely to occur for the player. Also, it shouldn’t be allowed to take a fifth engine before taking all other four engines. That might make career more interesting next time.

Keep in mind it's now 3 engines max without penalties. However I imagine Codies didn't do these things on purpose, for example because in career mode Ferrari would want to catch up on engine performance quickly

They really need to do something with the rivalries. It's nigh on useless, and you can lose rivalry despite consistently beating them in the races. You can go through what 3-5 rivalries a season, win all or none, and it would make no difference in the game at all. It would be awesome if they introduce some dirty pool into the rivalry system. So it's like your living out Senna/Prost. Maybe crank up aggressiveness in passing/defending. Or run some generated news stories about rivals, that is dependent on how the rivalry is shaping up, like articles about how the player is losing out on qualifying but winning all the races. Or emails from your rivals, that start friendly but based on race results or how to your reply to the emails can very from respectful, to boastful, or full on trash talk. Even better yet, if all drivers have rivals, even if you don't end up on the podium you could see the drivers give each other dirty looks or wet willies or something. Sidenote: they need give a custom animation to Ricardo of him doing a shoey(spelling?) or maybe forcing a shoey on a rival.

I would rather scrap the rivalry system and introduce something like a safety/skill rating that takes into account your progress and driving ability in Career Mode and also Online. Something like iRacing in a way.

True. Perhaps a better representation of the rivalry in terms of getting resource points (i.e. more sponsors because you're beating your rival) and change the way it's recorded. I could set 3 fast sectors, fastest lap and then crash out and still be 'beating' my rival.

AI is absolute garbage in Canada. They lose tons of time on the hairpin.

tempacc yup.. Just finished the race in my own career mode. Definitely the most time loss is from the hairpin. About half a second minimum..

That was a pretty awesome race, Ben. You were so competitive, and it was nice seeing where the Force Indias qualified and how well Alonso did, and there was great drama from Vandoorne, Hamilton and Räikkönen.

I had a dry to wet race at Russia lately and there were 3 cars doing a 2stop, I did a 3stop (smashed my front wing in the opening stint) and the other cars all did 6, 7 or 8stops which was crazy and of course I won the race

The point with the damage model is that it only works on the front wing and endplate and the wheels. The sidepods and rear of the car always stay completely intact. I feel like Codys can do better than that

it seems the physics model does not apply to the back of the car,even though they could have easily programmed(at least some)damage. i think it might be to promote track position,but that isnt true simulation damage is it codemasters.
