Matt haha, of which I am and everyone would very much be aware! But don’t you think my comment is valid considering how crazy serious the guys who MAKE these videos are!? These are driving simulators, and this video alone proves how seriously and therefore life-like, these people take this stuff! So with that in mind, all aspects including gear shifting are of equal ‘realism’ value! If you just hear the narration, everything is serious, massively in depth! So me pointing out that the shifts are not life like is a point well made I feel!
@GGMatt5 жыл бұрын
@@jacques-mauricefitzpatrick7692 They're serious because it's their job and something they're passionate about. He's trying to drive as fast as he can in the game, if the games limitations aren't as realistic as they should be then of course he should exploit them if it means going faster. Besides, I wouldn't consider this a simulation at all honestly, it's still far too arcade-like even with all assists turned off. Lando Norris said himself weeks ago that F1 2019 handles nothing like a real life car and that he was really disappointed with it, so, take from that what you will. I understand your grief with someone downshifting the way he is, I just don't think it's relevant or worth mentioning when it has literally zero effect on the game.

If anyone genuinely wants to know how to be the best driver they can be, set the best times they're capable of, for a start don't listen to any video created by someone who doesn't go into detail about setting up the whole car. Anyone who says they leave the suspension the same for all races, or doesn't consider this as important as every other possible adjustment isn't worth wasting your time with! If you're serious about improving your ability, to not only drive but to drive to your absolute best, you have to be serious about tuning. And that takes time, patience and, unlike demonstrated here, being methodical, organised and intelligent with the process. The only advice I see worthwhile here, which should have been stated at the beginning, and that's to turn off all driver assists and aids. Ultimately you can tune a virtual car to fit your exact style of racing, to be consistent and reliable, and not need that stuff. Turn off all the HUD screen crap too. None of that is needed, it's a distraction, and with reference of when to change gear from the audio and the lights on the steering wheel none of these casual-gamer aids are necessary. Only once you've 'perfected' the tuning, do you need to see times, and make comparisons between tuning adjustments, for example. And once you've gone through the whole process of tuning the car, go back to the beginning again and go through the process again and finely tune it further! Whatever you adjusted early in the process will inevitably require fine adjust and a second run through as each adjustment makes the car closer to being exactly right for you and the track. Every track requires a slight variation, at the very least. It's impossible to set a car up to be perfect for every corner, every straight, so it's always compromise. And that ultimately means the compromise for one track is unlikely to be ideal for another. If you're serious, and you do want to improve your driving, your times, and I would argue, massively improve the enjoyment and satisfaction of racing games being serious and decent at tuning can make a massive difference. If you've never cared to touch tuning previously or don't understand what each adjustment makes, experiment, play-around, take adjustments to extreme limits to feel what happens to the car at different speeds, under braking, accelerating, turning tight or in fast corners. And incrementally bring those settings back to the centre. Feeling and understanding the effect of each individual setting is key to decent tuning. Every adjustment is as vital as the rest if you want the best out of the car. If you're not committed, then I'm not sure there's much point in doing half a job. And don't take any notice of any 'KZbin' video that doesn't go into detail and demonstrate the process and techniques for methodically tuning a car!

Isn't it always the fastest to put brake pressure on 100% and use the anti-lock assist? Doesn't the game that way brake as hard as possible without locking the brakes, or in other words, always brake perfectly in terms of brake pressure? Or am I missing something? I might believe that the game in some way rewards you for turning the assist off because I notice a lot that when I put an assist off, my times don't drop and after a few laps they improve, which is weird because I have to multitask more than I did with the assist on
