Plot Twist: Daniel Ricciardo loses the championship by a single point because of Lando's dirty safety car restart and falls out of favour with McLaren so he jumps ship to Marduk Motorsport

I know others have said this, but lower tyre pressures means more contact with the road, and thus higher temperatures, higher degradation, and higher fuel use, for the benefit of gaining more grip and less wheelspin under power. I don't know how many of those things are taken into account by the game, but that's how things work IRL so I'd imagine the game is pretty close.
