I am going out on the lim here and defend the Reliability Department. Ben had reliability scares at Sochi, Suzuka and COTA, so the department screamed louder at him at Hermanos Rodriguez and Jose Carlos Pace, but his focus was on Performance. What more could they do?

@@pascalg16 He didnt. He was lucky that Vettel lost the lead in Valencia due to mechanical failure. That happened to Seb 2 times costing him 50 pts. In conjunction with the poor reliability that red bull had in 2012, that opened the door for Fernando to compete for the chip. Fernando's car was bulletproof. No dnfs by mechanical failure. Vettel in 2017 actually had to fight, an extremely rapid and dnf proof Mercedes. Vettel was the real champion of 2017 and was a worthy 2012 champion after that superhuman drive at Abu Dhabi.Pitlane to p3. Then getting knocked out at the last race of the season. Going from p24 to p5 in 17 laps, then rain kicked in and Vettel had to make up lost ground over and over again. And he finished p6. Probably the best ever drive in f1 history, with pressure of losing the chip, rain, bad pitstops, damaged left side of car (similar to Max's damage in Hungary 2021).

I've noticed this pattern in Tom97's career mode, and also in my own save, that from seasons 2 to 3, the AI have a monumental increase in pace, to the point where racing 110 AI is literally impossible. Looks like turning down the difficulty is the only way to go.

I've noticed this aswell starting around season 4. Was racing at 85ish AI myself and suddenly I could barely keep up with them.

i had the same issue, i could race with 97 AI just fine but in season 3 i had to crank it down to 90

Same happening here, i always vary between 103 and 106 AI, now im at 101, and i dont want to go 100, because it decreases an intire type of difficult. But i think i'll have to.

24:40 didn’t know that you could double stack when 1 car has been disqualified Also, usually when a neat lap is slow, it probably means a lack of straight line speed (you can’t make mistakes in a straight line or feel the speed of the car really)

hes not lacking 1.6 seconds of straight-line speed to his teammate in the same exact car minus setup differences that aren't going to be worth over a second and a half, other comments have discussed it too, the AI pace seems to jump drastically from seasons 2 to 3 and make 110 ai monstrously hard to defeat

I’m in my third season and the same quali thing happened, I was 1second off and I had nothing left whereas in different tracks I was top 10 consistently

In this game, there are 2 kinds of tracks. AI OP tracks, and Player OP tracks. As for Bahrain, it leans slightly towards being an AI OP track. Sometimes I change the difficulty so it doesn't look like I'm in a Haas. It also doesn't help that the AI get stronger and stronger as your career mode save wears on, to the point I once qualified P22 in a championship winning car in season 3.
