Will didn't mention it, but this was Jenny Gow's first race back at work since her stroke. For those who don't know, Jenny Gow is BBC 5 Live's pit reporter and there was, as I'm told a feel good mood in the paddock with her back at work. That and, you know, this was what she came back to. I mean, I' hoping all the other races from now on are also chaotic and somehow end up with a Max win. I'm not even mad Max won, he earned this one. This was race of the year and had absolutely everything. Just more proof we need European races or at least races that have a shot at throwing absolute chaos in the mix

There's been talk about Max gaining 4 seconds per lap because Checo was trying to save his inters. The conspiracy about the two of them having different cars has progressed to the point that Toto Wolff has thrown his tinfoil hat into the ring. I never imagined that the silver arrow would be a shiny point at the top of Wolff's head, but these are bizarre times. He's also been yammering about Red Bull dominance being bad for the sport. Exceedingly rich, coming from him.

@@onsterfelijke I think, at this point, there's no denying that Max is an unbelievably gifted driver, especially in extremely tricky (if not outright treacherous) conditions like the ones we saw at Zandvoort. Some drivers come alive in the wet. Max comes alive as soon as he gets in the car. His ability to adapt is genuinely staggering. I'm a fan of Checo, but I'm not going to act like Max isn't the best driver in the field (or like he isn't one of the all-time greats).

Good video, I enjoyed it as a Dutchman :). In hindsight it might be inappropriate to party while Daniel broke his hand but nobody knew it was the case at the time. He generally seemed fine, only later it was confirmed he had a serious injury. Daniel is very popular in NL. Nobody wishes this for him. The weather was just typical Dutch weather, nothing special. Good weather to put up a gazebo and fire up the BBQ underneath! Again, very good video and you gained a sub! 🤙

The most interesting part of the weekend for me wasn't how Zandvoort overdelivered, or the rave around track, or the conditions; no for me the most interesting thing was the fact that the two drivers both gunning for the second Sauber seat, Zhou and Theo, both hit the exact same wall on their respective race days in tricky conditions. Certainly makes the question of "who's the leading candidate" that much more tricky to answer, haha.
