Thanks so much for the hard work! I gotta say you're setups are about 0.5 second per lap faster than what I've come up with. Faster, while being a lot more stable & forgiving to drive as well. I'm trying to follow your method, but I'm definitely not as good at setups overall.
@GenericZac2 жыл бұрын
I'm probably one of the few people who genuinely like the reworked handling model. The handling in itself isn't a huge overhaul type rework but there's definitely more traction, the car feels more planted. BUT what has changed significantly is the way you set up the car. Now it is crucial to find the correct setup to get your car in that window of maximum performance. Then it feels great, you can push the limits of the track without fear of constantly spinning. I would recommend everyone watch setup videos dating from patch 1.06. But ultimately, find the setup that you find most comfortable driving with. In regards, to AI difficulty... I find myself turning the difficulty down but it doesn't matter - why? well A) if you're playing single player who cares?, It's single player, make it challenging but also have fun. And B) nothing about your driving has made you worse at the game, the Devs just need to tune down the AI overpowered-ness or "nerf" them.
@CamoKKing Жыл бұрын
Very well said. To be fair i like the AI difficulty because it simulates how it would be like to race the real life drivers and it challenges me a lot… even though i always get smoked🤣

Does having higher fuel levels effect tire temps. I test temps with full (or 50%) fuel loads to make sure not to overheat at the start of a race. What are your thoughts?
@revirdkcalb2 жыл бұрын
In theory I think it might lead to higher temps, however, since you're generally slower at high fuel (slower = lower temps), maybe it all cancels each other out and so doesn't really matter.
@garrisonlindsay5198 Жыл бұрын

I see you are saying more down force on the rear wing and less on the front. i have been seeing the exact opposite in most TT setups. even after the update. where did this info come from? personal preference? or is that something you have noticed in your setups that has changed and made you faster?
@theglitch3122 жыл бұрын
Oversteering setups are usually faster for a single lap since they’re more responsive. But that comes at a cost of tire wear and consistency. A slightly understeering setup is usually slower outright for a single lap, but faster in a race since it’s easier to keep putting out consistent laptimes without overheating the tires or going over the limits of the car. Especially now with the working temps window of the tires being just 10 degrees C instead of 20. Unless you’re confident you can control tire temps and can keep a twitchy car on track for 60 laps in a row, go for slightly understeering setups for races. Which usually means lower fw or balanced aero settings.

I need some tips on throttle control and basically everything because I went from f1 2021 at 90 ai to f1 22 at 75 ai with a wheel
@hughxthexhand2 жыл бұрын
I went from 100ai on 21 to 90ai on 22. I also use a wheel, one good tip for your throttle control is ajust your throttle linearity turn it up to around 20. The 1st 50% of your throttle will be less sensitive allowing you to be more precise and have more movement for less throttle.

Great video all in all! But Codemasters could have done better job at refleting the degrees on toe, as toe in is positive and toe out is negative and it always makes me think 7 times before adjusting. (at least for me, person who does work on vehicle suspension geometry IRL)

@23ograin532 жыл бұрын
The slightest bit of added camber, toe, or rear anti-roll bar only make the car less stable rather than increase performance at all. The setups used by those at the top of the leaderboards are tragically unrealistic (no fault of their own). You typically see suspension and ARB set to 1, and camber and toe set to the absolute minimum values.

With the suspension & ARB wouldn’t a stiffer rear setting on both equal more oversteer ? You’re saying stiffening the front induces oversteer but I thought it was the opposite? Has it changed in f122?

@revirdkcalb2 жыл бұрын
Nice video! One thing tho, at around 16:47 you said that stiffer front and softer rear suspension helps against understeer? I don't think this is correct. Softer front and stiffer rear suspensions make the car more oversteery, so less understeery. When I test your setups, this is one of the things that I usually change and don't like, your setups generally tend to have too high front suspension settings for my liking making the car feel heavy and understeery. It's great if you mostly don't want to spin out, however, if you really want to push and be faster, you have to setup your car to be at least somewhat oversteery.
@nexy522 жыл бұрын
im not great with setups but i prefer an oversteery car so what type of values would i want?
@revirdkcalb2 жыл бұрын
@@nexy52 If you're looking for oversteer: - higher front wing than rear - lower off throttle (for more rotation/oversteer during slow corners) - higher rear suspension than front - higher rear anti roll bar than front - lower brake bias - Front toe more to the right also has a slight effect
