F1 Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Circuit | Nicholas Latifi Onboard | Assetto Corsa

Here's an F1 onboard lap at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario.
Formerly known as the Mosport Park, this track hosted the first Canadian Grand Prix in Formula 1, and hosted it a total of 8 times with the last one being in 1977.

True, though personally I think Mont-Tremblant would be better for IndyCar racing. The ChampCar race Mont-Tremblant held in 2007 was brilliant.

They don’t unfortunately but the nascar trucks do and IMSA does as well so it’s really not lacking much

I'm having a hard time comparing this circuit to any other one I've seen. It rolls up and down like Algarve, but more severe; it looks (in an F1 car) bananas-fast like Monza, but there's not nearly as many straight stretches - loud pedal just pinned to the floor through many corners. And yet it looks narrower than almost anything besides Monaco - like the old Osterreichring. A rolling, shorter Spa? A faster Brands Hatch? No idea. The point is, very unique and exciting as hell to watch.

I like to call it canadas mini nurburgring. I think it's the highest average speed track in North America. I would have loved to catch an f1 race back in the day. My dad was lucky enough to catch one.

It's a fantastic track, I grew up in a small town about 25 minutes away from it. Everytime I visit it's great racing! Has amazing viewing points for fans with all the elevation aswell

Brands Hatch is probably the closest comparison, but Mosport has a bit more flow to it. Similar sweeping elevation changes though.

Would be interesting to see if an actual F1 car could go around turn 8 at that rate of speed. Yes they create insane downforce and it's a long sweeping turn but still can't imagine they could go around it at 300+ km/h.

This view does not give a sense of how fast and difficult Corner 2 is here. It's a double-apex hard downhill left hander. When you're approaching it after the exit from Corner 1 all you can see are the treetops in the distance, then the road just falls out from underneath you. Tragically, this is when Manfred Winklehock had his fatal accident in 1985.

If the circuit was longer and didn’t have as many flat out sweepers, this would be a North American staple for sure.

It's 2.5 miles per lap, but the corners are generally so fast that the lap times are fast, too.
